A short walk through the woods) will get you to the part of Southeast Clarke Park that is on Lexington Rd. That part includes a skateboard park, nature trails, walking and jogging track, tennis courts and softball fields. It is just 2-3 minutes by car from the restaurants and shopping at the College Station/Gaines School intersection. From there, it's a stress-free and attractive 5-10 minute drive into the UGA campus and downtown Athens.You can also go downtown via Lexington Hwy, straight shot. There are several bus stops (the #27, #26 and #25 Bus line) and a park at walking distance. There are walking paths outside the neighborhood in all directions. The main roads around the home neighborhood are Lexington Hwy, Whit Davis road, Gaines School Road, and Cedar Shoals road that ends on Gaines School Road. At that point in Gaines School Road you have a variety of grocery stores and restaurants. We have Kroger, Publix, Jittery Joes, Wall-Mart, Lowes, Italian, Chinese, Indian, and other restaurants close by. You have easy access to The State Botanical Gardens if you would like to run or walk the trails. Samford STADIUM is 6 miles away, 10 to 15 minutes by car depending on traffic. .
