This 2-bedroom street-level flat is below our home in the beautiful Mt Tabor neighborhood. This popular neighborhood has tree-lined streets and gorgeous classic craftsman-style bungalows interspersed with some of the city's best bike routes, dining, shopping and nightlife. Please read through for detailed descriptions of both the neighborhood and the space!
Coffee shops, restaurants/bakeries, shopping, ice-cream, and Mt. Tabor Park (an extinct volcano! that is now a large forested park with lots of running and biking trails) are all within walking distance. The house is in a quiet neighborhood a few blocks from the Hawthorne and Belmont Districts which are adjacent to the thriving Division/Clinton Districts.
If you are looking for the quintessential Portland, Oregon experience, this area truly fits the bill. The concept of living local is exquisitely expressed through restaurants showcasing seasonal and regional food, shops filled with beautiful locally made goods and a nightlife filled with creative local music and art. We are a short drive from New Seasons, a local natural foods grocery store, and Fred Meyer, a more traditional grocery store.
The walkability is outstanding in our neighborhood! We’re a short walk to restaurants, cart pods, shopping, a library, parks, schools, gyms, dispensaries, yoga studios, the US's largest float tank center, sushi, wine shops.

This is a great spot for groups that want to get out and see the sights during the day and then return to a peaceful, beautiful and well-appointed space to relax in at night.
The space has a private entrance that is a few steps down from the sidewalk along the side of the house. You will access through a keypad on the door with a code that will be provided to you a few days prior to your stay. You can check yourself in any time after the designated check-in time (4pm) and check out any time before the cutoff time of 11am on your departure date. There is always plenty of street parking out front and throughout the neighborhood: luckily we're not San Francisco...yet.
The main living space is large and spacious with an open living/dining area and a full kitchen. The well-appointed bedrooms both have queen beds with luxury linens, a large daylight window and plenty of space. The bright bathroom has a walk-in shower fully stocked with luxury, organic bath products.
We have kids and get how challenging it is to travel with the younger set, so we’ve gone out of our way to be extra family friendly with a pack and play, toys, games and a high chair in the unit. Upon request we can supply a hiking/carrying pack to take your little ones on some of the amazing hike's around Portland or an umbrella stroller. If there are other items that would make your families trip easier just ask. We have lots of gear!
As mentioned, we live upstairs with our two small children and dog, so you will hear some noise from our family above. We did put a good amount of insulation between the two floors, but if you're noise-sensitive and needing absolute quiet, our space will unfortunately not be a good fit for you. We also do not allow parties, so this unit is not suited for hosting large groups or noisy, late-night parties. But please don’t hesitate to reach out prior to booking if you are hoping for a small gathering (especially if you are booking during a holiday) as we are open to allowing exceptions in some cases.
We employ a property manager to ensure that someone is always available to make your stay excellent, even if we're out of town or unavailable. They'll assist you through the booking process and manage any questions, concerns or special requests you might have prior to your stay. They are located in the neighborhood, so are always in the know about the latest hot spots! They maintain a curated book of recommendations and neighborhood and city info that will be in the unit for you to refer to during your stay, but don't hesitate to reach out to them for recommendations or anything else you might need while you’re here. If your are planning some day trips around the region they are happy to help you put together an itinerary to make the most of your time here!
If we're around, we're happy to offer ideas on where to go and what to do as well, so don't hesitate to knock on our door too!
