About the property

4 Bedrooms, 3.5 Baths, Sleeps 12

Enjoy the quiet solitude of the Sierra Cedars subdivision in this beautiful 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath mountain cabin. What makes this cabin so unique is not only the game room that features a pool table, foosball table and air hockey at its location.

The Bear Bottom cabin sits on a large corner lot and part of a quiet cul-da-sac which is great for the kids that plan on doing some sledding in the winter and not having to worry about a lot of traffic. Enjoy the serenity of the forest from the continuous wraparound deck that surrounds this home.

The master bedroom located on the main floor features a Cal Kings size bed and a private bath with a sunken tub. The first bedroom on the upper floor features a Cal king size bed with a private tub & shower. The second bedroom upstairs also features a Cal king sized bed. The third bedroom features 2 queen size beds. The fourth bedroom is great for the kids and comes with a queen sized bed, two twins bunk style along with a crib for the newborn. All bedrooms features their own TV. At the end of the hallway on the upper floor is probably where most of the family will gather. This large game room features a pool table, foosball table, air hockey and TV featuring a DVD player. A wonderful room to be in during a snowy day in Shaver Lake. Whether its watching the big game on the flat screen cable TV or enjoying the great outdoors of the Shaver Lake area, this beautiful mountain retreat has so much to offer.

Guestbook comments from the manager

My family absolutely loved the Bear Bottom Cabin. Especially my husband who fell in love with the wide comfy recliner in the living room. This chair was awesome. The kids enjoyed having access to the game room with a foosball table, pool table and air hockey. A great place to hang after a long day at the lake. All the beds were quite comfortable plus it was great that every bedroom had it's own TV with Dish Network. The cabin was quite clean and you can tell the owners take pride in ownership. We loved how the owner decorated the home with photos and paintings of the local area along with mountain dishware. Spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. Plenty of room for a family of 10. Plus, the staff at Shaver Lake Vacation Rentals were great to work with. We highly recommend a summer vacation at the Bear Bottom Cabin. See you next summer.

The property is very pretty. The house is so spacious and tons of room for all of us. The game room is awesome for the kids, as well as adults. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was that there is not a lot of room to put food, a lot of cupboards were locked. There were not a lot of dish towels for the kitchen. But otherwise, I would totally recommend this house!

Beautiful cabin, fully stocked, game room to keep everyone entertained for hours

  • 5 of 5

This was our annual family Christmas trip and by far the best one yet! The cabin was perfect, plenty of room for the 12 of us. After a day of playing in the snow we would come back to the cabin and continue the fun in the game room, it was fantastic. Thank you to the owners for sharing their beautiful cabin! We can't wait to come and stay again 😊

25th family celebration trip

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful time at Bear Bottom Cabin. Ate very well with the help of the stocked kitchen appliances and utensils, no matter what kind of cooking/baking we did during our stay. Ate a large breakfast, then packed a lunch for the day away on excursions, then returned and talked about the highlights of the day, over a delicious dinner. Our family enjoys the sights and sounds of the areas we visit, so being gone most of the day was fine, however if you enjoy relaxing and staying home, this is the place for both. We drove to Sequoia NP, and experienced Moro Rock, and the giant Sequoia's. Another day we drove to Mono Hot Springs. What a crazy drive in and out from the springs, we enjoyed every minute, except one child did not like the cliffs right outside the vehicle windows (no guard rails), so please use caution when driving, and if you are not a very confident driver please do not attempt (Seriously). Plan a hike to Rancheria Falls, we loved it, but please use caution with children. We got our groceries in the town of Prather. The Bear Bottom Cabin had great hot water for all our showers, and good lighting for our evenings, close to the town of Shaver Lake for good food and drinks. It was overall clean, however the kitchen floor was very dirty so we had to wear our shoes inside or our socks turned black. Very good internet for multiple devices, also a nice game room for a friendly game of air hockey or pool. plenty of clean linens, and the washer and dryer came in handy. Enjoyed reading a good book next to the wood stove. Lost power for 10hrs one day, but quickly learned Bear Bottom had a generator (never gave that a thought when looking for a place) who knew? we had lights and refrigerator. Nice neighbors across the street (driveway side), we had to borrow some cinnamon for our apple pie, and they were very quick to start up a good conversation. There is a lot of dead trees in the region so we watched the foresters fell some very tall trees. Very easy late check in with the Shaver Lake office, also a very helpful and easy to use phone app for our stay. From our family to yours, Make time for your family, the kids grow up very fast so make memories, or like us with older kids take the time away to catch up and spend time together. The Bear Bottom cabin helped us do just that, and we will forever cherish the memories we made, and the pics we took on our 25th family celebration trip!

Gods Blessings to you all, Sherwin
