About Andy Chase
Born and raised in Lyon Mountain, NY built a business with the area for over 30 years built this home and have enjoyed living on Chazy Lake since I was 18 years old Married and raised my family in this area and have loved the Adirondacks and the community and always will
Andy Chase purchased this House in 2002
Why Andy Chase chose Ellenburg Depot
this property was originally developed as part of a ski area, aka, Lowenburg the mountain directly behind the property. My parents purchased what was a camp on this property in 1960. When I took over the property and made it my home I tore down the camp and built the luxury home to live on one of the cleanest lakes in the United States, Chazy Lake. The neighborhood, we have the nicest neighbors that will welcome you warmly.
What makes this House unique
This property on Chazy Lake was built with all the amenities that our family has enjoyed and cherished. The vast walk-in cooler that keeps all refreshments and foods cold, or the Sauna that warms you after a dip in the lake on a late night or early morning. A refreshing Hot tub under the stars that melts the cares of the day away. Our beautiful Chazy Lake is a family love for young and old.

Relaxation and family time on a quiet lake on the northern tip of the Adirondack Park.
This has been our third time at Loon Point. This location has a little bit of everything for the whole family to enjoy. We love the quieter lake, the hot tub, sauna and beach. The house has lots of room for everyone to spread out and be comfortable. The wifi can be a little intermittent but that works in our favor as kids spend less time on electronics. The owner, Andy, provides two kayaks and one paddle board with the rental which get used by my family on a daily basis. Kids love to use kayaks for fishing. Plattsburgh is a short drive away for groceries or other entertainment. We have also made day trips to Montreal and Lake Placid which are only a little over an hour away. Andy is great about getting back to you if anything is wrong at the house and making sure items get fixed promptly. We highly recommend spending a week at this little oasis in the Adirondacks.
Loon Point.....Just Amazing.....Picture Perfect!
Perfect location and setting for our family reunion!. 6 adults 5 kids 10-14ys old.....so much to do and yet just perfect to sit and enjoy the fantastic views. While there is no wifi, at first, of course the kids were frustrated, within 24 hours, they played like the old days out on the kayaks, paddle boards, fishing, hot tub sauna, pool and pingpong...building fires for smores etc...just perfect! The house was plenty spacious and outfitted with everything you could possibly want in a home away from home, no need to worry about the little things...they are all there! We went hiking up My Lyon and had a Lobster Bake flown in,Fishing on Lake Champlain and a day in Lake Placid...my only regret...is that we could not have had a few more days at Loon Point!
I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay at "Loon Point" . This perfect home and property on our breathtaking beautiful Chazy Lake is truly a hidden gem in the Adirondacks. Your location at "Loon Point" makes the day trips to Lake Placid, Canada and the surrounding locations easy and then coming back to enjoy a fire by the lake, roasting marshmellows then taking an evening dip.
What a special memory you created with kids (and adults) that learned how to unplug and enjoy the beauty around them. We all need a week to take us away and dream while the loons call in the evening and the sun laps on the shores in the morning. Your welcome back anytime and we hope your special memories of your stay bring you back. Kind regards.
This home was perfect for our 2 families. We were able to cook our meals in the well appointed kitchen. The use of kayaks and paddle board were a nice thing to have.
Beautiful lake house getaway
Fabulous place to enjoy quality family time
The house was wonderful the layout was perfect for the kids as well as the adults. The sweeping lawn in the backyard that leads to the lake provided space needed for fun games and relaxation
We have rented many times beforeand have enjoyed all of them however we all agreed that this was the best by far
We're no longer ocean people!!
We usually vacation in the Outerbanks of NC. But we decided to stay here and connect it to a trip to Quebec City. After our week at Chazy Lake, we may never go back to the beach! The house is amazing. Even with 10 people, there's a ton of space, and we never felt on top of one another. But the best part by far is the large and perfectly groomed lakefront yard, beach, and the commanding view of the lake. We spent most of each day lounging next to the lake and kayaking and paddle-boarding. During the evenings, we'd grill on the deck (nice new infrared grill -- had to pick one up when I got home), sit in the hot tub, get a fire going in the fire pit, and roast marshmallows. We were nervous that we'd be bored without a boat, but that thought never crossed our mind even once. The lake is gorgeous and quiet compared to its much busier neighbors in the Adirondacks. There were never more than a handful of boats on the lake, even during perfect weather in the middle of July. (BTW, the house has a sturdy dock for a boat if you bring one.) The few boaters that cruise anywhere close to the house slow down and wave. Lyon mountain offers a beautiful view opposite the lake. It's a good 2-hr climb to the top but with an amazing view of Lake Champlain and into Canada. I really can't say enough about this property. Like I said, we love the beach and have taken a couple family trips to Europe. But this one ranks right at the top in terms of awesome memories.
We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at "Loon Point". It is a beautiful property and we love sharing it with guests that truly appreciate the beauty of the lake and its pristine settings. The house was built for lake side entertaining and making memories with family and friends. We welcome you back anytime and wish you and your family a wonderful year filled with beautiful memories of your time at "Loon Point" on Chazy Lake. The Chases
Location, location, location!
This property has an absolutely amazing location/view of Chazy Lake. We enjoyed our two week stay at this location. There was plenty of room for our 4 families (ages 13 to 78). The majority of our time was spent enjoying the lake (fishing and teaching the teens to water ski). We made a lot of good memories this week even though the weather was on the cold and rainy side. We would have rated this house a 5 star had it not been for several things. First issue is the sleeping situations. For the rental price we were expecting much nicer sleeping arrangements. The queen mattress upstairs needs to be replaced! You literally roll together as a couple and feel like you have to crawl up and out of the bed. I ended up on the floor on an air mattress because my back couldn't take it. Secondly, the master bedroom upstairs is not closed off from the rest of the house and is in need of some curtains on the windows that face the lake. Also, the walls do not go the whole way to the ceiling and there is a "window" open to the floor below (where the kitchen/living room are) and the adjacent den/study. So all noises made by either people in the kitchen early in the morning or watching tv late at night is heard in the master bedroom and den (which impacts quality of sleep). Or, if someone is having a rough night sleeping (I.e. snoring loudly)... the entire upper floor hears all the noise as well. Third, the quality of towels/wash cloths in the bathroom were less than satisfactory. In the upstairs smaller bath, the towels were dingy, grayed, stained, and smelly (even after washing with bleach). Other towels thru out were small with a thin feel and the wash cloths were very rough (like using sand paper). Again, for the rental price, we think the owner could replace the towels and wash cloths. Lastly, while the kitchen boasts a nice stove, the rest of the kitchen is not gourmet. We Prepared the majority of the meals ourselves instead of dining out and it was hard to find basics like measuring spoons or a hand mixer. The pots and pans were heavily scarred and honestly need replacing as well because so much sticks to them. The grill was amazing! don't think you could burn anything on it even if you tried.
While we had a great time here, for the money the owner needs to upgrade some things to make it truly a 5 star property.
Andy was truly amazing to deal with because he was so friendly and easy to work with. He even dug out an older pair of waterskis for us to use.
Loon Point is a beautifully appointed rental property and we are glad you enjoyed spending time at one of the most pristine lakes in the Adirondacks. The price is proportionate with the market, especially when you were able to enjoy the "four families" in one place, in the 7500 square foot space, which has every amenity all past guests have enjoyed. The towels have been inspected and a few replaced since the new towels in the master bath were left untouched I'm sure those would have met your expectations. I'm sorry the few towels in one of the 4 bathrooms didn't meet your expectations. The Master bedroom has a spectacular panoramic view of the lake and we believe that our guest falling asleep to the beautiful sunsets or waking up to the awesome sunrises that fall across the lake, is exactly what our previous guests have enjoyed the most. The home is built in the Adirondack style instead of the closed in space that you may have been more familiar with. The grand panoramic views of the lake are what keeps our guests returning. I'm sorry our Adirondack style of home didn't meet your expectations . I'm sorry the queen mattress didn't accommodate you, the larger size one is in the master bedroom which has a California king size mattress. I haven't had any guest require a measuring spoon lately but we do have a top of the line Kitchen Aid bowl mixer in the walk in pantry. We are glad you enjoyed the new grill and find it a lovely way to enjoy the 60 foot long deck overlooking the lake while grilling some steaks or burgers. I'm sorry you didn't find the 45 feet of granite countertops and custom built hickory cabinets with birch accents "gourmet" when describing the kitchen. I do agree the "Dacor" oven is definitely a cooks delight when preparing meals. The dual convection oven and 6 burners with a griddle top is wonderful for entertaining and feeding large crowds.
We thank you for leaving such a beautiful note about how much you enjoyed your stay at Loon Point on the desk before you left and glad Andy was so accommodating during your time on the property. Weather in the Adirondacks can't be controlled so we were glad you made the best of it. Regards, "Loon Point"
