Amazing Experience!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed at this property for our anniversary trip to NOLA last weekend (we did 4 nights/5 days). We cannot say enough good things about our stay--Cecile and Chris were very outgoing and accommodating, while still providing my wife and I total privacy. They are very knowledgeable about their city, so if you are a first-timer (as we were), they are able to provide you with great guidance on where to go for the things you're looking to do, and how to get back on the right trail if you find yourself lost.

We were there during Hurricane Nate's approach to the Gulf Coast, and Cecile and Chris made sure we were comfortable and even provided a generator in case we lost power during the storm.

The location of this property is amazing, as it is within comfortable walking distance to the heart of the French Quarter, Frenchman Street, Jackson Square, and the French Market. The room includes a new and EXTREMELY comfortable pull-out sofa bed, microwave, sink, Keurig coffee maker with K-Cups, television w/cable, WiFi, mini-fridge, air conditioning, and your own bathroom that is just outside the door in the laundry room. Cecile even offered the washing machine and dryer if needed.

If we find ourselves in NOLA again (and we will, because the city kicks ass), we would not hesitate to book at this property again!

This place was perfect! My first time to New Orleans did not disappoint. The location is priceless. Lots of restaurants and bars near by. We walked to everything. The place is petite but has all the essentials one would need in a place to stay. The owner was the most hospitable woman. Not a single bad thing to say about this rental. When we come back we will for sure be staying here again!

Thanks for everything!!

Wonderful place in the heart of the best part of New Orleans

  • 5 of 5

You really can't find a better place to land in NOLA. I parked my car for the days I was there (you get a parking pass for the street) and walked everywhere. It's close to Frenchman Street, the jazz quarter with lots of bars and restaurants that have live jazz nightly, and to Royal Street, a major artery that can take you all through the French Quarter and beyond. The cubby is very cute, very simple, and probably a bit tight for 2 once you put the couch-bed out, but it worked great for me by myself. The foldout bed is the highest quality there is, not one of those things with springs and a floppy mattress, but a very solid real bed once you've unfolded it. Very, very comfy. As others said, it was really quiet here, even though it's near jazz and restaurants; and I stayed a few days before Mardi Gras. Nowhere else I walked seemed as peaceful. Horne's has excellent breakfasts (and lunches too, probably), and it's easy to find bars for nightly drinks, and good food nearby. I didn't use it, but there's an outside table for sunny days (it rained when I was there). The kitchen is bare bones, but you're in New Orleans! I can't imagine why anyone would cook, so it worked fine for me.

Great stay, and Cecile could not have been more helpful--she even rescued a restaurant reservation that fell through when my Uber failed to show. They are great folks and this is a great place; you'll feel like you get to live for awhile in NOLA.

Car: not necessary

The Cubby is one block from the famous Frenchman street which hosts over 11 music venues and two Art markets hosting work from local artist. It is two blocks from the French Quarter offering a multitude of restaurants, clubs, street music, boutiques,, shopping, antiquing and galleries.

The new streetcar line is just a few blocks away, tying into all the other streetcars throughout the city. A $3 all day pass is the best deal in town.
