Two story Charleston single house style home with first floor master, great room, dining room, breakfast nook, laundry and kitchen with all appliances. Upstairs has huge bedroom with kids/study room, full bath and second bedroom. Both bedrooms have private entrances to upper sun deck. Front sun porch, rear lower deck, brick patio, fishing dock, fenced yard, two kayaks and bicycles for guest use. Great Lake and sunset views on private lake. Grocery, restaurants and Starbucks across the street. Historic Downtown Charleston, MUSC, Roper and Folly beach are 5-8 miles away. Sleeps 6 easily.

I was hesistant reading some reviewers, but our stay was amazing. Birds on the lake, water views from all the windows, coffee on the dock.. and enough space that we didn't even run into each other. The house is clean and well taken care of--better than my house at home. We will be back.

Close enough to everything Charleston has to offer including downtown , MUSC and Roper hospitals as well as Folly Beach and James Island County Park, but tucked away enough to relax and have a big open space to enjoy. Spacious serene, comfy yet stylish-- we fell in love with this home and hope you enjoy it.

Spacious lakefront house close to downtown

We rented the house so we could celebrate Thanksgiving with my son who in U.S. Navy A school in Goose Creek (31 min from the house.) There were a total of 5 of us that stayed and there was plenty of room. We made dinner for 9 and were all able to eat in the dining room (table seats 6 and bistro table seats 3.) We enjoyed watching movies on the TV. Teenagers weren't happy about lack of Wi-Fi but I considered it a bonus ;-)

It was too cold for us to enjoy the kayaks and bikes, but the fireplace had a nice ambiance and kept us toasty warm. Grocery store was conveniently close by. House has some cosmetic issues which is why I rated 4/5 but a big house, great location. Owner was quick to respond to our inquiries. Perfect for what we wanted.

Owner's Response: I appreciate your comments. As I can only address issues which are brought to my attention, I encourage you to email me any "cosmetic issues" so that they can be fixed. While this is lived in home I share with guests and not a model home, it does have imperfections. It is however attended to better than my primary home! Thanks for your stay.

The house is okay - needs a little love and care but was clean and met our basic needs

The house is a solid 3 bedroom. It’s a stretch to say it can accommodate more than that, though you can make it work. It has a spacious common area, great for hanging out. The deck is in rough shape (patio furniture was covered with some sort of rodent like turd, boards need replacing) and there’s no Wi-Fi which we expected to be available. It is very convenient to downtown and to Folley Beach, as well as grocery store etc. Having stayed in plenty of homes and know the area, I guess I expected a little more.

Owner's Response: I am sorry you were so unsatisfied with the house. This is my home and I take great pride in it. As such, I would like to reply to this guest's comments. First, I had told this guest before arrival about the deck work that was being done on a small area due to hurricane affects; I am sorry this was a concern. Second, the deck is outdoor on the water, but I have a very thorough pest control service so there are no animals living on the property. Third, wifi was knocked out and was specifically listed as not available. Additionally, the house comes with two kings, a double, a twin, a futon and a crib. I only allow six guests to keep wear and tear down. I am unsure how these sleeping arrangements could be insufficient for the listed group of four. Finally, I keep my house in excellent condition and am constantly doing improvements and adding new elements. I too know the area well and am very proud of my house in comparison. While it is not a new home, I do take excellent care of it. And if any guest has a problem, I address it immediately as it is my home! On a last note, I have excellent repeat guests who also love this home. I keep my rates low and appreciate all the private feedback regarding these comments.

Quaint. Nice layout for our family. Convenient to downtown and beaches.

Two king beds, one queen, one twin and crib were great. Linens nice. Ample cooking n dishwater for the basics. Overall pleased with our stay and would recommend for those traveling w toddlers, this home beats hotel hands down.

Awesome & Relaxing

Our family of 5 stayed this past week and loved it. The location is perfect for getting into downtown Charleston, as well as sightseeing the islands. We went all over the area and found some great restaurants right on James Island (Amalfi's was delicious and reasonable). The house was comfortable for all and such a relaxing setting. Every morning we started our day on the deck with coffee/tea watching the geese and ducks. We even had a chance to use the kayaks. We really enjoyed our stay. The only thing we noticed were some of the dishes were not clean. Not a big deal - we just washed them and kept on going. Great place to stay and we would recommend to family and friends.
