It is known for its walkability with shopping center 1/2 mile away. People are friendly and you will absolutely feel like you live here, not just vacationing. The perfect place to rest your head after spending days on the coast or exploring the many activities the Island has to offer

About Brad & Charity Belanger

Charity grew up in the Pacific Northwest and Brad grew up in Las Vegas. Together they raised their two daughters and are currently living in Washington State. Las Vegas, too hot and too dry. Washington, too cold and too wet. The Big Island's Kohala Coast is the perfect compromise. We like it right down the middle, feet in the sand and our heads in the cool breeze.

Why Brad & Charity Belanger chose Waikoloa Village

First of all...we love the Big Island, specifically the Waikoloa Village neighborhood. We first visited the Island and arrived on a Wednesday and departed the following Thursday. Eight days we thought would be plenty enough to do all the things we had tentatively planned to do. Our plan was to get back home on that Thursday and have Friday and the weekend to unwind before going back to work. Forget it. That was a three day error on our part. There is no need to come home and unwind. When you leave this place you are unwound. In retrospect we wished we would have just stayed until Sunday and went back to work on Monday. Live and Learn.

What makes this condo unique

Beyond its affordability we have tried to make our guest's Hawaiian vacation memorable and stress free. Our lanai overlooks the 11th and 13th fairways of the Robert Trent Jones designed Waikoloa Village golf Club. From the same lanai beyond the golf course views is an ocean view to remind you why you came here. Snorkels, masks, fins, boogie boards, beach towels and 2 sets of golf clubs are provided for guests so no need to spend money renting what most hotels charge for. Fully equipped kitchen and washer and dryer in unit.

Almost Heaven

We very much enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect to get to all the North has to offer. The balcony overlooking the golf course (watch for errant golf balls, they come close) was alive with a plethora of birds cooing, tweeting and gobbling the morning away. Not a bad way to wake up. The apartment itself was more than adequate. Really loved the shower, it was as tall as me and the best beach towels we have ever had in a rental. The kitchen appliances were very good, and having in suite laundry is a plus. The pots and pans were probably good in their day but have had most of their teflon scratched off but we made do. Although the short walk to the other side of the complex to get to the pool is not a problem carrying your food all that way so as to use the BBQs is a bit much. Que sera.

The one and only complaint is the amount of smokers that seem to be permanent residents. Two whom smoked constantly all day long in their unit/balcony putting their odors out there for all to smell was disgusting. This includes marijuana smoke as well. A complaint to the Mangers office did nothing to alleviate the nuisance. I have stayed in this complex/area before and this unit ranks i n the top three.

Nice accommodations for families with young children. Beautiful location, quiet surroundings.

Strongly recommend staying at this condo! The owner was flexible with times of departure to assist with our travel plans, accommodating for younger children. Convenient washer/dryer for laundry. Great location for tourists attractions.

Fairway Terrace 19/08/2017 to 2/09/2017

Brad and Charity are terrific owners, very responsive and truly want to ensure that we have a great time on the Big Island. We have been coming to the Big Island for 12 years, usually stayed at Paniolo Greens down the road, this time around PG is undergoing major renovations and so we found Brad and Charity condo through VRBO.

On arrival, the Cleaning Services did not do their job: dirty floor, dishes that had to be ran through the dishwasher again, countertops that needed to be wiped down ... the only thing they did was replacing the bed sheets.

Once we made Brad and Charity aware of the situation, they contacted the Cleaning Services right away and made arrangement for them to come back, however by that point we already cleaned the condo to make it livable. Brad immediately offered us compensations for the situation and checked in with us continuously to make sure we are okay.

The condo is ideally situated, walking distance to Waikoloa Highland Center (supermarket, gas station, Cafe) and easy 15 mins drive to some of the best beaches on BI (Mauna Kea, Beach 69, Hapuna). New Saddle Road is 10 miles up the hill to go over to Hilo.

Overall the condo is comfortable, great base to explore the BI.

Owner's Response: Aloha Chau, Thank you for the nice review despite your vacation not getting off to an ideal start. I hope you will consider staying with us again sometime since it is clear that Waikoloa Village seems to be your favorite neighborhood, ours too. Not living on the island we do depend on others to make sure our condo is cleaned and well maintained for each incoming guest. I have no excuse for the condition in which you found the condo. Having said that we are going on 2 years now with this really being the 1st problem cleaning service wasn’t doing a great job. In fact I know the owner prides herself on her work and is always willing to correct any issues that may have been missed. We also take pride in how our condo is received by guests and most reviews in the past if nothing else, seem to note how clean and well maintained unit is. I also appreciate very much the condition in which you left the condo, please know we would always welcome you back given the chance. Mahalo, Brad
