Floating Fun with an Amazing View!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time for 5 nights at the floating red home! The house is really cute and the views are amazing from the upstairs patio as well as the roof. The 3 kayaks worked out great and having a full kitchen and BBQ made it easy for cooking meals. There were 4 of us staying so it was nice to have two separate bedrooms and bathrooms, but the bathroom could use a little work. The weather wasn't that great but it was very relaxing and enjoyable even when it was raining outside. We enjoyed the whole floating home community and with a market down the street and multiple restaurants within a 20 minute walk or less, it was easy to not use a car unless we headed downtown. Desiree was a great host and she is very accommodating. I gave this place 5 stars because we had such a great time but there are some small inconveniences. The beds are small (queen upstairs feels like a double and twin XL downstairs is tight for two adults) and the pillows were too high for all of us. The 3 kayaks were great but with 4 of us, a 4th kayak or a double kayak would have been nice so we could all be on the water at the same time. Also, the inside seating area wasn't horrible for 4 people but the two chairs weren't that great so everyone wanted to sit on the couch. All in all this is an easy 5 star for 2 adults but maybe a 4 star for 2 couples. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you Desiree!

Quiet and Peaceful

  • 4 of 5

Overall, we enjoyed staying at the houseboat. It was easy to find, parking was always available even on this Holiday Weekend and is centrally located. The houseboat has everything needed. The reason we are giving 4 instead of 5 stars is that the downstairs bed was not comfortable and the boards underneath kept coming off the frame. Other than that is it was a perfect stay. We would definitely rent here again!

Dream fulfilled...

  • 5 of 5

We fulfilled a 20-year dream in September by renting a floating home on the east side of Lake Union. Desiree Yuan’s house was terrific, fulfilling our high expectations. Fully equipped, very pleasant décor, and great views of Seattle skyline and happenings on Lake Union. Everything seems set up, of course, for sunset wine on the rooftop deck. Desiree was very responsive. We strongly recommend this place if you find yourself spending a few days or any period in Seattle.

Best Birthday Ever!

  • 5 of 5

I had always wanted to stay on a houseboat and decided to treat myself for my birthday. This visit was beyond our expectations. It had everything we needed - even GREAT weather!

Sitting on the deck with that first cup of coffee, enjoying a meal with family around the dining room table, watching the lights of the city from the upper deck, and getting a great night's sleep in the quiet.

Desiree was very calm and kind when we called in a panic because we had locked ourselves out as we were leaving. All was resolved and we left knowing the next visitors would have an amazing visit too.

I would definitely recommend this property to friends and family.

Perfect place to stay in Seattle

  • 5 of 5

Words cannot express how much we loved staying here. The view was tremendous. The experience of the boat house was unmatched. Watching the sea planes land and take off from the provided kayaks was once in a lifetime. The perfect peace and quiet of the lake at night caused us to sleep like babies (the seaplanes only operate during the day). And for those of you that get motion sick like I do, I NEVER felt any movement at all. In addition to the location and everything else, the owners stocked the place with reading materials and sightseeing guides. We were pretty lazy and didn't explore too much but if we wanted to we had lots to read about. We hope to return soon!
