Vrbo Bear Stay review
A great place to stay
Spacious apartment within easy walking distance to most attractions. We were very impressed with the apartment and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. The apartment overlooks the Prace Luis de Camoes and you can catch the tram 28 just outside the front door. The square can be noisy at times and if you are a light sleeper it may be an issue. We found that if you ensured the shutters were closed at night sound was not an issue. Bonus for those that like pastries, a great pastry shop right next door.
We loved the location and the apartment. It was spacious and very well equipped. Sílvia and Luis were very helpful and responded to our needs promptly.
One suggestion is to include instructions regarding regulating water temperature with the introduction to the unit.
Perfect New Year in Lisbon
Wonderful, large flat on a magnificent square. Terrific neighborhood with one of the best bakeries almost in the lobby. Would definitely stay there again. Lots of light. Very well maintained building (don’t let the musty smell of the lobby put you off; the hallways and flat are fine).
Lots of room for a couple. Large bathroom and large kitchen. We made coffee every morning and bought pastry from the bakery downstairs with fruit from the local market down the street for a lovely breakfast. Being New Yorkers, the bit of noise on the square didn’t really bother us but at times can have a bit of noise,..but definitely not a deal breaker unless you are an exceptionally light sleeper.
Would stay here again.
Very spacious and comfortable apartment in the very heart of Lisbon
Very nice apartment. Well equipped and in an ideal location. Saturday night can get a little loud on the square, but that's part of the fun. Overall a great place to stay.
the apartment and the building are excellent as is the location
It is a generous flat regarding size. The dining room table, chairs, sideboard are beautiful. The bedroom and bed are excellent as are the pillows. The square is very central and very busy at all hours of the day and night but the windows and shutters effectively cut out the noise. I am not sure what it would be like in the summer. Luis was very helpful on our arrival with information regarding restaurants , transportation etc. We asked twice for a late check out and never heard back so we stayed until one when we caught a boat. The apartment could use some money invested in it. The two couches in the large living room are old as are their covers. The kitchen could use new pots and pans, new knives (very very dull except for the cerated knife). The kitchen table was well used. We had to ask for more wine glasses which they quickly supplied. The appliances need updating. The dish washer broke the first time we used it and luckily we stopped it before there was water damage in the apartments below. The fridge is old and the fan and stove light did not work. For such a premium price the supplies were skimpy. There was only salt in the apartment. We were given two dish washer soap pads and two washing machine soap pads and they gave us more when we requested them. We left some good quality olive oil and good coffee for future users of the apartment. The bathroom was also light on supplies and we left additional toilet paper and used our own hand and shower soap. We asked for more towels and they provided them. I estimate that an investment of one week's rent would fix most of these issues (pots, glasses, kitchen knives sofa covers).
For all that, I would definitely use the apartment again. Location was excellent and we walked most places, both up and down. the 28 and 24 stop right outside your door. The best custard cake in Lisbon is right next door and excellent restaurants are nearby. The layout of the apartment is excellent.
Great location and space
Lovely apartment. Right in the heart of the city. Impressed at how well it kept out sound (it was not pin drop quiet since it overlooks a busy square, but it did a good job dampening the noise of 3am revelers). AC was great- we were there on 43C (109F) days at the apartment was great.
Some silverfish, malfunctioning elevator, but otherwise lovely place.
