About Kathy McKinnon/Owner/Property Manager
We are transplanted South Georgia folk who live in the upstate of beautiful South Carolina. We fell in love with Maggie Valley while on vacation. We decided to buy a cabin that we could enjoy and rent out to guests for extra income during our retirement years. What a great decision! My husband is a fixer upper and I love hosting guests so we make a great team. We look forward to many years enjoying this exciting and lovely area as we host guests and explore the region. Happy trails!

Comfortable and well situated. Loved our time at Maggie's Hope.
The cabin was wonderful. It was great for the 6 of us. Kathy was very responsive and helpful. The cabin had everything we needed.
Being able to see elk most evenings was a great experience. We talked with a neighbor who was wonderful. The kids played out back, the neighbors kind enough to over look them drifting in and out of the surrounding yards.
We were close to town and the local restaurants. Being early spring, there were limits on what was open. But the open restaurants and shops were quite nice.
We drove into the park a couple of days. Even though the weather wasn't great, we enjoyed the mountains. We were close to Soco Falls so we stopped there as well. Beautiful double falls.
We would definitely stay at Maggie's Hope again. It was our home away from home.
Thanks, Kathy, for making our stay wonderful!

Charming Cabin with Beautiful View
We loved our stay at Maggie's Hope! Kathy, the owner, was very attentive in communicating with us, answering all our questions, and providing details. Her personal touch, made a long drive to a strange place a pleasant experience. The cabin was charming and decorated so nicely. We appreciated the homey touches. The kitchen had plenty of accessories for us, as one member of our group LOVES to cook! The cabin was a peaceful respite, especially the rocking chairs on the back porch overlooking the mountains. That was the first place everyone headed each morning and evening. The twinkling lights from homes on the mountains each evening, felt magical. The location was a perfect spot. Our goal was Asheville, but we spent time exploring the Blue Ridge Parkway, and heading over to Clingman's Dome in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. All 3 travel destinations were fantastic! We can't wait to come back to this beautiful part of the country. I highly recommend a stay at Maggie's Hope.
We really appreciate your nice comments and especially having you all as guests! The cabin and Maggie Valley is definitely a “go to place” for relaxation, beauty and nice adventures. Thank you for choosing our cabin. 😊
