About sandra corey
Native San Diegan. Reclusive artist, gardener. I enjoy time with family and friends. As a young girl, with my family, I lived in Switzerland and traveled Europe for nearly 3 years. We also spent many fun summers and weekends at our our family cabin in Mexico.
sandra corey purchased this House in 1998
Why sandra corey chose Mission Hills
The charm of the older and historic neighborhoods of Mission Hills. After living in La Jolla and del Mar, when I was ready to buy a home of my own, this was the neighborhood that appealed most to me. The house is conveniently located to many amenities. Within walking distance there are fun eateries, shops, Summer Cinema Under the Stars, Pioneer Park (free summer concerts) and tennis courts. It is within minutes of some of San Diego's finest attractions, including San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Old Town, Gas Lamp, Embarcadero, Coronado and many of our fine beaches. You are 2 blocks from the City bus, 10 minute drive from the airport, train station, trolley, Comic-Con, 10 block walk to City DecoBike rent-a-bike station at Dove and Washington St. Garage is not offered but there is ample street parking and an entry gate on both streets of this corner lot.

. . . and the garden!
Just returned from a 4-night stay in this absolutely lovely, comfortable, immaculately clean home. Sandra knows how to deliver 5-star hospitality. For business travelers, the house is less than a 10-minute ride from the airport, and from just about anything else in the area - 5 minutes from downtown. The wi-fi is super easy and super fast. The house is completely charming and every bit as nice as it appears in the photos - even nicer. There is a very calm, relaxed atmosphere throughout the house, like someone has studied your every need and already addressed it for you. The neighborhood has a very safe, friendly vibe with sidewalks for an after dinner stroll. But, and here's where I am going to reveal one of my secrets, I always look for guests comments about how they were so relaxed and happy in their guest quarters, they were tempted to just stay-in. This definitely applies to Sandra's home in San Diego. We hope to be able to return soon! Thank you!
Beautiful, comfortable and well-equipped
Sandra was an excellent host. The house is very attractive and easy to live in. It is particularly well set up for someone who likes to cook and spend time around the house and in the pretty grounds. The location is quietly suburban and yet walking distance to shopping and good transit (we don't use a car when visiting San Diego) as well as several excellent restaurants. This was the best of the four places we have stayed in over the last eight winters. We will be visiting again.
Wonderful, charming home!!
Sandra’s goal was a 5 star visit...achieved.
Beautiful quiet neighborhood, home is supplied with everything you will need.
We had an “oops” our first day, it was resolved immediately.
If you’re looking for a rental in the San Diego area don’t miss this one.
Charming and well thought out
When I walked in I was immediately reminded of my Grandmother's craftsman bungalow in long ago Los Angles. The house is full of charm--books and antiques, but everything was functional and of modern design when it was appropriate. It was sparkling clean and perfectly equipped, as would be a second home. It is in a great walking location both to restaurants and shops and around a beautiful neighborhood. We would definitely stay here again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. Sandra couldn't have been faster responding both before and during our stay. The cheese and crackers she had waiting upon our arrival were wonderful. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was completely equipped for cooking meals in. We will definitely be staying here next time we visit San Diego.
Full of Soul home
A friend and I stayed for a week at the 'little garden, i.e. Orange door" home. The reviews were
so good that our expectations were high. From the moment we walked in seeing the dappled
shades of color coming thru the front shutters to the view of the back garden from the hallway
to the French doors with the garden beyond, we were hooked.
This full of soul home is a mix of the practical and the mystical. There is a creative force that lies hidden, and inspired us to slow down and savor what "it" was feeding us.
We enjoyed our meals outside and chose the back garden for tea/coffee when the sun was at
its warmest in the afternoon.
Not everyone will react this way but will be looking for a good kitchen/bed/access to airport
/freeways/landmarks/owner for questions ; This property rates 5 stars in all of the above.
But what would bring us back is the character of the home itself ; It is what we hold dear.
Just up the hill from historic Old Town San Diego, the Birthplace of California, where the first Europeans settled. You are 2 blocks from the city bus, 10 minute drive from the airport, train station, trolley, and Comic-Con. 10 blocks walk to city DecBike rent-a-bike station. Mission Hills in one of the oldest and most charming neighborhoods in San Diego. Within walking distance there are many great restaurants, shops, summer Cinema Under the Stars, Pioneer Park and tennis courts. It is within minutes of some of San Diego's finest attractions, including San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Old Town, Gas Lamp, Embarcadero, Comic-Con, Coronado and many of our fine beaches.
