About Mark

I am a Presbyterian pastor. Our family discovered this property in 2001 and fell in love with its rugged, wooded beauty and the expansive beach. The sound is mesmerizing. We built our home primarily as our getaway but we 'share' it with what we hope will be a growing list of return guests who find it to be as unique and special as we do. John Wayne once tried to buy this property. If it's good enough for the 'Duke''ll love it.

Mark purchased this house in 2003

Why Mark chose Moclips

We looked up and down the coast but couldn't find anything that provided the privacy and beauty that matched Moclips. The forest, the elevation, the vast, unspoiled and sparsely populated beaches made this 'our' place.

Relaxing, beautiful, accommodating

  • 5 of 5

We came with my family of 8, 6 of which were kids, my sister and her new hubby and son , and her husbands parents.

So many things to go do, the beach was a very short drive but so worth the time!❤️

The House is so beautiful and we felt very safe, it was also very clean and the beds were so clean and felt like home, and comfy!

Mark was so amazing to talk to and very receptive.

We look forward to coming back with just our family...

watching my boys who have ADHD just relax and enjoy the sound of the ocean and seeing bald eagles.. It was well worth it! Thank you Mark!

Stunning view! Beautiful and comfortable accommodations!

  • 5 of 5

We could not have hoped for a better environment for our Grandkids Getaway! The house had plenty of space for everyone, yet felt cozy with its open concept kitchen/living space and warm, inviting fireplace. And the view! To awaken to the sound and sight of the ocean waves right outside the window...well that was simply awesome! No view blocking sand dunes here! Everything we needed was at hand...Plenty of towels, dishes, cookware, full washer and dryer and a terrific coffee maker were just a few of the many amenities. The beds were comfy too! Easy to find, plenty of parking, privacy and an easy jaunt to the beach for some spectacular kite flying. We will be back! Oh, and the internet access was fabulous!

Nice family week vacation:

  • 3 of 5

Great location; spectacular view; plenty of space and time together. Many necessary items not available. Bring slippers for the floor, and perhaps your own pillows. Upstairs kitchen layout is better than the bottom. Needs many light bulbs replaced.

Would we stay again; probably not... Not typically our type of vacation rental; no hot-tub; no pets allowed, not even tiny ones that are disability companions. Over-all fun solid family time...

Owner's Response: We are grateful that our guest enjoyed our property but were disappointed to have the first review lower than four stars in the history of our rental, particularly since this was our gift to a charity donation. Our website clearly indicates no pets and that we do not have a private hot tub. We will certainly take care of the light bulbs.

Perfect Family Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This beach house in Moclips made for a great, relaxing family getaway. We found the place very clean, warm, comfortable, and nicely accommodating. It is quiet and secluded, and has a really nice view of the beach. The rental is actually two separate units, one on each floor, yet if you rent both units, it feels like one, large house. There were 11 of us and we had plenty of room, even at the dining table.

The owner, Mark, was very responsive and provided us with all the information we needed. Booking the beach house was quick and easy.
