Nestled at an approximate elevation of 3000 ft , with 3-D mountain views and the sounds of a bustling river below, sits Cabin UnWined, a private, 1450 sq ft, open-concept 3 bedroom/3 bath log sided home with top-notch décor and a relaxed modern vibe. Inside UnWined, one has all the comforts of home including a double-reclining leather sofa, two in suite baths, and a warming gas log fireplace. Cabin UnWined’s wraparound porch offers dining al fresco and plenty of rocking chairs to take in the view morning and night. The natural world, of course, begs exploration too. No car is required to enjoy what the Riverwalk community offers…200+ privately owned acres of lush nature that includes the trout-stocked Cane River, canopied hiking trails, wildlife, a riverside park with large picnic pavilion, a large fire pit and a zip-line just for kids.
PLEASE NOTE that only AWD or 4WD vehicles are permitted on the short road to access this home. The road is gravel and there is a short stretch that climbs. The incline of this stretch has proven time and again to be more than a 2WD vehicle can handle without spinning wheels (which damages the road).
If we can't accommodate you here, we might be able to in one of the other vacation homes we manage we manage on the same mountain that are 2WD friendly. We'd love to assist you!

Perfect for winding down and kicking back!
My family and I loved the space. The views were great! It was clean and neat and airy. Everything we needed was right there in the cabin. I was especially pleased when, after realizing I'd only brought coffee and creamer, I found packets of my favorite sweetener in the cabinet!! Us coffee lovers know what this feels like :).
We will be back soon and often.
Lovely cabin, but you need 4-wheel drive
My friends and I stayed in Cabin Unwined for the weekend of my wedding (ceremony held at Sunset Gatherings). The cabin itself is lovely and once we got up to it, a good time was had by all.
With that said, we found the drive nearly impossible with 2wd. The cabin is at the top of an incredibly steep hill. Even when following the directions given in the listing, a friend got stuck. This was in early October, so no snow or ice on the ground. This is a friend experienced with mountain driving, having gone to App State. Even still, his SUV was perilously close to going over the side of the road. He needed a tractor to pull him to safety, which we are all most grateful for Laura's parents for helping him out.
Still, I think it's borderline irresponsible to rent this cabin to people who do not have 4wd. Every time someone needed to come or go from the cabin (a lot, on a wedding weekend), they groaned in anxiety and frustration about the drive.
As nice as this cabin was, we won't be back and would actively discourage folks from renting it if they do not have 4wd.
Thank you Chelsea, for posting a review and for choosing Cabin UnWined as lodging for the weekend of your beautiful wedding.
However...in defense of Cabin UnWined, I must remind you that the requirement for AWD or 4WD IS made available to EVERY guest numerous times prior to arrival. It is written in Cabin UnWined’s listing description on VRBO and HomeAway as well as in the driving instructions located in the Pre-Arrival section of Cabin UnWined's listing. If fact, every booked guest receives an email approximately 10 days prior to arrival reminding them to visit the Pre-Arrival section of the listing prior to travel. It is also written and bolded as “IMPORTANT” in the Reservation Email each guest personally receives at the time of initially booking of Cabin UnWined. I personally believe it unfair to post a review of which will lower this home's over-all rating when it is actually the irresponsibility of any guest booking this home not to read the multiple mentions and warnings of the need for AWD or 4WD and to take these warnings seriously. AWD and 4WD drive vehicles will not and do not ever have issues.
Very Nice and Quiet Cabin
My family and another family spent a long weekend in the Cabin at the end of August. The cabin is well maintained, clean, quiet and very enjoyable. The only negative part of the weekend is the very steep road to get to the cabin. On the first day we got up there no problem but by the third day our car almost didn't make it up the road.
Thank you for posting a review. Sounds like you all had a very nice time in the mountains.
I'm sorry to hear the road was a challenge for you. It is a bit steep and I do make every effort to make guests aware prior to booking a reservation. While many 2WD vehicles have traveled with little difficulty (owners have only driven it with 2WD vehicles), it is no easy task if you are "un-rehearsed". This is why I state "AWD or 4WD vehicles only" in Cabin UnWined's description online as well as in inquiry responses and Reservation Statements. I appreciate your notation of the challenge in your review and hope others desiring to book Cabin UnWined in the future will pay close attention to the vehicular requirements stated in the listing.
Thanks once again for choosing Cabin UnWined! LEW
Cabin Unwind is the Perfect spot for a relaxing getaway. The house is gorgeous, updated and has EVERYTHING you need! We enjoyed tubing the creek, the pool and the house. There was plenty of room for all of us. We definitely plan on recommending this cabin to others plus coming back ourselves.
We loved this location. The house was so lovely. it had enough room for our 5 adults, the views are breath taking. i would rent this place again.
