Not exactly as described
This home is in need of maintenance and cleaning. The mattresses are old, bedding, towels, living room furniture are terribly worn and all need to be replaced, along with the kitchen cookware. The kitchen drawers, bathroom cabinets and drawers were filthy, along with the refrigerator. The screens in the back porch are torn and do not keep lizards or insects out.
There is a neighbor that shares space in the house (duplex). We did not expect that. There is a shared wall in the second bedroom closet that has a connecting door in the closet. The opening to that doorway is not filled by a door, but rather a thin piece of insulating board. You can hear everything. Not a peaceful environment and interfered with sleep.
Our reservation was for eight nights, but we left after four because it simply was not comfortable or what we expected.
The home has great potential but needs a lot of TLC.
Perfect location in a comfy home
The location is perfect....close enough to the beaches AND easy walking distance to great dining options! The home was comfy and nicely furnished. The bikes were a GREAT plus! The owners were easy to work with and responsive.
Great dolphin show in the back yard! Friendly, informative neighbor (Brian). Everything you need & conveniently located.
Quite and nice neighbourhood close to the beaches
We stayed for a week and enjoyed the house that had everything needed. Each morning took a run to the beaches close by, kanoeing from the dock and enjoyed the backyard. Coconut Jacks became our favourite restaurant and at Melissa’s ice cream parlour we tasted the wonderful ice cream.
Ken was an excellent host and helped immediately when there was a question or problem.
A Perfect Location
We had a marvelous month at the house on Gary. The location is perfect. I took a daily walk to the beach. (It's about 7,000 steps for those of you who count.) The great room is on the small side, but everything is very clean and functional. The master bedroom is sizable and has plenty of storage space. The second bedroom has twin beds and a nice-size closet and one bureau. Everything you need is there: sheets, towels, pots, pans, dishes, essential pantry items, a coffee pot, etc. There are fans in the rooms and the AC works beautifully. The washer and dryer work well and are full sized. We loved the screened-in back patio. It was the perfect place for morning coffee. I also loved sitting on the canal dock watching the fish jump and the birds flying around. On our last day, we even saw two manatee.
Ken & Beatrice are warm and welcoming. They treat you like guests of the family. They are a delightful, young couple, and we wish them well in their ventures.
If you're looking for a pretentious location, this is not for you. If you want a comfortable vacation in a terrific location, then consider this VRBO. Our month there was delightful.
Great Location and Hosts
We rented this for the month of Feburary. The house was more than adequate for my husband and myself and was full equipped should our children and grandchildren been able to join as as had happened in the past. Ken and Beatrice made us feel most welcome with nice touches, such as a welcome basket of goodies, as well as making it quite clear that they were available as needed. As everything worked well it was not necessary contact them. The location was ideal and even with a busy street across the canal we did not hear any traffic in the house and could enjoy the fish and wild life on the canal. The only drawback was the fact that this house has been divided into two units and additional insulation is necessary to mitigate conversations, tv's etc. between the units. The neighbor was fairly quiet but did have a loud voice and one could hear phone conversations. As we are a bit hard of hearing, too much concern was paid on our part to not disturb with a loud TV. I would recommend this as a nice place to enjoy the Florida sunshine.
