My AIA award-winning, 3 story, 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath townhouse features cutting edge green features, comfortable appointments and is located in the heart of the idyllic neighborhood of Madrona. My house harvests it's own rainwater, filters and re-purposes it's greywater, has radiant floor heating and is cooled naturally. The materials are locally sourced and the floor plan is open and filled with natural light. The private and sunny rooftop deck provides views of Lake Washington, downtown and the mountains. This place was built with love.

Madrona is the neighborhood many Seattleites don't know about and the residents like to keep it that way - for a reason. It's absolutely charming; with restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, parks and churches. My apartment has a 90+ walk score, and it's 12 minutes from downtown via Metro buses #2 and #3. A Microsoft Connector stop is less than 100 yards from my apartment and the Starbucks HQ is an easy 15 min. drive over surface streets. Access to I-5, I-90 and 520 are all close too.

About Tom Flood

I've been fortunate to live in beautiful Washington State for over 35 years and have called Seattle home for the past 22.

I'm an artist, teacher, urban farmer and most importantly, a Dad.

Pike Station is a seven unit development I built in 2013 and it encompasses my inter-disciplinary vision; "creating habiltable sculptures based on natural systems." I've kept one of the apartments in the project as my in-city residence and I'm pleased to share it with the VRBO community.

I've been teaching Sculpture and Sustainability for over 16 years and my two daughters are 17 and 21.

Great home is beautiful neighborhood.

We were lucky to have stayed in this great condo located in the gorgeous neighborhood of Madrona. This family reunion was so much fun. The rooftop deck is great and the condo was perfect for preparing meals and making family memories.

Tom is very responsive and a great host.

Good Location but that's it.

If you are looking for a good location in Seattle then Madrona is the place. As far as the condo goes..if you like austere then you have come to the right place. Minimal kitchen supplies, including a broken cork screw and no wine glasses...1 closet in the entire place that was filled with supplies so hard to hang clothes in.....Bottle soap in the bathrooms but no soap for the showers.....No TV unless you stream and comments not to bother the owner if you did have technique questions....No lamps or night stands in the bedrooms so you had to use over head lights to read and then get and turn them off...

I stay at VRBOs about 8 times a year and this was by far the least pleasant experience I have had in 10 years....

Ending on a good note. The condo was clean.....I would not recommend this condo to family and friends....

Owner's Response: Hi Peg. I apologize that my apartment did not meet your convenience and comfort expectations. The apartment was delivered exactly as advertised. No, there are no dedicated night stands for the bedroom but there are two small tables upstairs that other guests have used as bedside tables. No, there are no bedside lamps either - just as pictured. Regarding the TV, I do not have cable or satellite and sent you information weeks in advance of your arrival about the TV situation. I even included explicit instructions on how to connect your device to the TV via the free WiFi. I was unaware that the corkscrew was broken and it will be replaced immediately. Regarding the wine glasses: I have replaced them 3 times this summer as it seems guests either steal or break them. Moving forward, I will make sure they are accounted for at each check out, bill accordingly and ensure that my house cleaner replaces them on a regular basis. I appreciate you bringing this to my attention. Yes, storage (hanging) is an issue in my urban apartment. However, you could have relocated the extra blankets, air mattress and box fans in the entry closet under the stairs as other guests have - to make more room in the closet. I am working on a functional long term solution to the issue. Again, I apologize my apartment did not meet your comfort and convenience expectations, but feel that it was delivered exactly as it is/was advertised - and done so at a very reasonable rate. Lovely property

Equipped more like a luxury home than a rental. Brilliant location with several restaurants literally around the corner and supermarket 10 min walk away. Slight downside.... it was HOT at night.

The perfect place

Everything was as described. Very nice neighborhood with great places to eat. Friendly people. Bus stops "10 steps" from the building and takes you right downtown. Would definetely stay here again.

Very clean. Loved the location.

This townhouse was in the perfect location for us. Madrona is a beautiful, quiet community within Seattle. We were visiting family and also did all the tourist attractions which are very easy to get to. We had a rental car and never had trouble parking at rhe house. We also took the bus downtown, the bustop is just around the corner.The townhouse had everything we needed for our stay. We also visited Madrona Arms for a couple meals, and definately reconmend anyone visiting to go there! Looking forward to our next visit and hope this property will be available again.

Amazing Family Time

We rented this property from Tom and it was our first time in Seattle. He was a great person to rent from, responded quickly, helped answer all of our questions and his property is simply beautiful. We really enjoyed the time we were there, and we were close to some of Seattle's main attractions such as Pike Market, the aquarium and space needle. Having our four year old with us made this a huge bonus. Especially because the location was extremely safe and people were very nice! Thank you Tom for this wonderful experience and if we are ever back in Seattle you would definitely be one of the first people we contact for a place to stay.
