About Eric Sullivan
The Sullivan’s purchased the Sandy Beach Road property in January 2011. When the Sullivan’s were showed the property it was approximately 5 degrees in the house. The Sullivan’s will always remember the chills but knew this was the property they wanted to warm up with their family. After purchasing the property the Sullivan’s began an extensive landscaping project. During the project the entire lake side yard was removed and redesigned to today’s standards. The low hanging branches and several trees have been removed over the years to give the property the wide open feel that is enjoyed today. Throughout the years there has been many celebrations on the property including 4th of July gatherings, Thanksgiving’s, Christmas’s and birthday parties for the two little Sullivan twin girls that were born in February of 2015. Recently the Sullivan family was relocated due to Eric beginning a new career as a Conservation Officer with the State of Minnesota. The Sullivan family is currently living in the Pequot Lakes area and travels back to Sandy Beach Road to maintain the property between renters. The Sullivan’s also take advantage of the property a few days a year when there are no guests. Thanks you for choosing Sandy Beach as your vacation destination. We hope you enjoyed and will travel back in the future. The Sullivan’s

Sisters weekend in November
Overall, we really liked the place and might be back. There are just a few details for the owner to take note on for improving the property for the guests: The house was clean but a bit musty smelling and dusty when we got there. I doubt unit has been used since summer. Those in our party with dust allergies were really bothered by this. Some of the remotes were either empty of batteries or the batteries were dead, so we were switching between those that were needed at the time to make do. Some light bulbs also needed replacing both inside and outside. Towels could have been bigger and thicker and more of them as would only have one per person if the house was booked at capacity. Freezer icebox was frozen up with very old ice. The floor heater in the entry way was turned up way too high when we got there and it took us until the next day to realize that it had a separate dial on it as the rest of the house was controlled by a control behind a lock box. Carpets were dirty as was obvious by the stains on our socks and a sticky spot between the dining room table and lakeside windows. There was a fireplace but no instructions as how to use it. The owners should also go through some of the kitchen containers as there were many plastic lids with no bottoms that could be thrown away. Otherwise, the property was in good shape. The beds were very nice to sleep in and we had a great time. I’m sure this would be a very nice place in the summer to stay at and then it could be enjoyed to its fullest potential.
I appreciate the input that every guest gives after a stay at our Sandy Beach Property. I am the owner and take pride in communicating with my guests to make sure their stay is as enjoyable as possible. Most of the concerns in the previous review could have been handled by a phone call or email . I keep lots of replacement items in the kitchen cupboards. Every group that stays at Sandy Beach has preferences of how they like things so I make sure I am accessible to meet those requests. The fireplace at the property has been made inoperable due to safety concerns of the many young children that come and enjoy the property. I will put a informational list together to help answer common questions guests may have during their stay. The property does get used less in the off season but we cleaned the property two days prior to guest check in. Part of renting our property is the constant cleaning, replacement of things that fail and improvements that are made to the property. We are looking forward to replacing the refrigerator so the ice machine works property, having the carpets professionally cleaned to prepare for another busy summer, replacing towels and improving parking area to better accommodate guests.
Great family getaway
My family, my parents, aunt and my brother and his family have made this cabin a tradition each year to get away from it all. With it only being a little over an hour away from our home, it is the perfect travel destination with 2 small kids (age 1 month and 3 years). We’re all looking forward to our stay next year already :)
So thankful for great guests. Thanks for choosing Sandy Beach.

Thanks again and glad you enjoyed your chilly stay.
The Sandy Beach House worked great for a weekend stay with 5 couples. Plenty of space for everyone and a nice location on the lake. Eric was great to work with during the reservation process and quickly answered any questions that we had about our stay. We would stay here again if our group gets together in this area at some point in the future.
Thanks for choosing Sandy Beach. It was a pleasure hosting your group.
