Wonderful home away from home!
Or her family had a wonderful weekend at this lovely beach home in a beautiful community of homes. It had all the amenities for all of our activities. We cooked a lovely dinner together in the well equipped kitchen. A few of us use the large soaking tub in the master bedroom. The great room and kitchen area had plenty of space and very comfortable for us to enjoy each other's company through the weekend. We walked around the neighborhood and found a great playground for the children. The beds are very comfortable and we all slept well, young and old!
Beautiful property and wonderful communication throughout!
Many thanks for a lovely stay!! We would not change a thing.
Definitely would rent again!
My friends (10 of us with 2 small children) and I stayed for 3 nights and would definitely stay at this property again. Patty was really easy to communicate with. The property itself is really nice and clean with a nice long table for all of us as well as a large kitchen with a variety of appliances that we took full advantage of. The distance to Rehobooth beach worried us in the beginning, but actually the ride is not bad at all and there is lots of shopping/restaurants/grocery stores along the way.
The only thing I want to forward to future renters is that Google maps directs you to the wrong house. You end up hitting the house before your gps will say you've reached your destination. My friends and I had a hard time finding the house initially especially because we all arrived at night when it's dark and hard to read the house numbers.
The Best Vacation Rental Ever!
Our extended family of 10 thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Stephen’s Nest. The kids did not want to leave. This home is by far the favorite place we’ve stayed at. It is so beautiful and super clean. The house is charming with all the little reading nooks and little areas to sit and relax both indoors and on the porches. There is a pool table which everyone enjoyed.
The house is perfect for a large family to eat together and large enough to be able to spend some time alone. The kitchens and bathroom are so fully stocked that you could stay months there without running out of toiletries and household products. The kitchen was stocked with high end equipment which made preparing meals enjoyable and easy (awesome waffle iron, espresso machine and blender). Every bedroom is virtually a master bedroom in terms of size and having its own bathroom. The beds and linens were super comfortable.
Patty was so responsive and generous with her response and time. We enjoyed the wave pool and golfing. There is equipment in the garage for the nearby beaches. The next time we’re back in the area, we’d stay here in a heartbeat.
Beautiful house, fun community.
I would HIGHLY recommend this vacation rental for anyone looking to stay in the general Millsboro area or The Pennisula resort specifically! If you are looking for a beach rental in Lewes or Rehobeth, this area is about 25 minutes from either beach.
My family (6 adults and two child ages 5 and 2) recently stayed in Patty's home in The Pennisula resort near Lewes, DE. The house was beautiful and provided exactly what we needed. Although the house was very tastefully decorated, there were not a lot of fragile knick-knacks that can cause great anxiety for parents of young children.
The set-up of the house was perfect for 3 families. On the main level, which is the middle level of the home, there is a pool table room, a small sitting room, a study with a futon couch, the kitchen, a large dining room table, and a family room with a large TV. In the lower level, there were two bedrooms, one with 2 queen beds and one with a king bed and TV. These bedrooms are connected by a bathroom. The lower level is quiet and fairly dark. There are doors leading out to the backyard in both rooms and a door outside of the bedrooms leading to the garage. The third floor had two large rooms, each with a king bed and private bathroom. The master suite had a large tub and separate shower. My sister rented a crib for her 2-year-old daughter and was able to set up the crib in the closet, thus allowing for a completely darkened room for my niece. The closet was bigger than my niece's room at home!
The pool and clubhouse in the community are beautiful. The pool alternates between calm water and a wave pool about every 15 minutes. Kids were able to use boogie boards to surf on the waves. The chairs and umbrellas are set up in sand, so the kids can dig and play as on a beach. You do have to pay daily rates to go to the pool or purchase a weekly pass for $85. Kids 5 and under are free. Patty was gracious enough to provide two passes with the rental.
The community is about a 25-minute drive form Lewes or Rehobeth, longer in traffic. I would have liked to be a little closer to Lewes to take advantage of the restaurants and ice cream shops there more easily, but I knew this going in.
I would strongly recommend Mr. P's Pizzeria just outside of Lewes (cash only). We had a terrible experience at Serendipity - bad food, poor service.
Overall, this is a lovely community with pools, nature trails, and a golf course. Patty was very helpful!
Thank you so much for your kind review. Very informative for someone looking to stay in the area. Glad you had a great visit. Welcome back anytime.
The Stephen's Nest Thinks of Everything!
This home is amazing! There are tons of seating areas/nooks/bedrooms for our family of 8 (ranging in age from 5 to 75) to either come together or get some alone time. We enjoyed barbecuing on the outdoor grill, relaxing on the screened in back porch, and playing pool after the kids had gone to bed. Patty is such a pleasure to work with and she thinks of everything including bikes for touring the neighborhood, beach chairs, paper products, toiletries you may have forgotten, and a fully stocked kitchen! The community center was great for the kids with an indoor pool and an outdoor wave pool with a manmade beach. The only slight issue was for the grandparents, there were quite a few stairs but luckily there were two bedrooms on the first floor which helped to save their knees! It's not a bad drive to Rehoboth/Lewes/Dewey (about 25 mins) Everyone had a great time! Thanks for making our family getaway such a treat!
Please no pets or smoking! Thanks
