The owner found that Uber worked great during the summer of 2016, totally eliminating the parking hassle of downtown Newport.
This property was newly acquired by owner late 2015 so was new to rental market summer 2016. As work was being done on the unit, owner restricted the number of rentals. Prior to being put on VRBO, the house was rented to a family for a 3 generation "get together." below are their comments:

This house at 151 Allston Avenue is very will located in Middletown in the residential area between First and Second Beaches (Newport Beach and Sachuest Beach). It has everything you need, with comfortable bedrooms and nicely outfitted kitchen and bathrooms. The air conditioning is a welcome relief in July and August.
My husband and I stayed for 2 weeks in July with my daughter, her husband and their three young sons, and my son and his wife. On the ground floor there are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. There is a large deck off the kitchen/dining area, where we cooked on the grill nearly every night. Downstairs is a large media/rec room and a bedroom, the perfect set-up for my three grandsons, who could escape to their own activities and leave the adults upstairs.
The house really worked perfectly for us for the two weeks we were there. And the owner is wonderful and very responsive to your needs!

We are so happy with our stay at 151 Allston. My husband and I stayed in one of the first floor bedrooms, while my parents stayed in the other, and our 3 young boys stayed in the downstairs bedroom where they had their own rec room space to play, watch tv, and do little boy things. The deck was a perfect space for me for everything from quiet time in the early morning, to hosting friends and family for my 40th birthday party. The open concept kitchen and dining room provided a fun and easy space to enjoy breakfast and dinners for our multigenerational gathering. And the living room was a perfect place for cheese and crackers and wine with extended family.
The house is close enough to 1st and 2nd beaches for easy days on the beach (and I really enjoyed my runs to and on 2nd beach), and it is close enough to the various shopping centers in Middletown to make shopping easy (even if you forget to bring on vacation your bathing suit as I did and need to make a Sunday morning to Marshalls!).
So happy, couldn't have wished for a better homebase for our Newport vacation.
