This is a monthly rental. As long as you book One Sixty Two for 30 days or more, it doesn't matter how long you stay. In other words, compare prices with other homes and see if your shorter length of stay is more affordable with One Sixty Two's rate. Also welcome are those of you who need a lovely home for a few or many months. Rent varies per season. Do inquire for reduced rent for a multi-month stay.
One Sixty Two was built as a summer "cottage" and used for three months each year in summer for over fifteen years. It has lovely hardwood floors, plank wood ceiling, and the decor is antique, stylish, yet fresh. The living room is open to the dining area, which is open to the kitchen. Each of the two bedrooms has its own bathroom area, with a shared shower between. In case you need a hot soothing soak after a day of hiking or skiing, a deep bathtub with a view of a pine and cedar woods awaits you. The covered deck with deck chairs is the perfect place for an evening refreshment. A picnic table sits at one end in case you want to dine outside. Satellite TV and WiFi are provided. A garage is available for your car. 'Within minutes of downtown and the ski hill. So sorry, but due to negative experiences, absolutely no dogs or other pets allowed.

My name is Kris and I'm an independent silver artist. I live next door – a walk through the woods – and am the only neighbor, visible in winter only for lack of leaves. While I deeply respect your privacy and reason for being here in Whitefish, I am available to you for your inquiries into the property, the area, and local activities. I maintain the property, plow the drive, shovel your walks (if you want), mow the lawn, get out the kayaks, clean up, and more.

Location and privacy are important to us. You will be within 2 miles of downtown Whitefish, 2 miles of either public beach on Whitefish Lake, within 6 miles of ski runs. Yet off the beaten trail. This rental is for those of you who enjoy a simple environment that is clean, peaceful, classy, and cozy. It’s an easy come-and-go location. When you are ‘home’ you feel at home, able to really relax in your special place. Nature is all around. Magic happens here, so bring your dreams, creative and artistic endeavors, that project you want to complete, and/or those things you've set aside for a better time and day. Or, forget the relaxation and explore the area, winter or summer.

If you want yet another activity, I teach my silver-metal-clay art process in my studio, which is at the confluence of our driveways. Look me up on the Internet -- Kris Kramer Designs. Make an appointment ahead of time and take home silver jewelry that you made for yourself or as a gift. My brother is a professional photographer. You will see some of his Montana photos in 162.

Comfortable cottage in a beautiful, wooded setting
Whitefish is one of our favorite places and we have been vacationing in the area for many years. "162" is by far our favorite rental property in Whitefish. It is a peaceful retreat with abundant wildlife, secluded in a beautiful wooded setting, yet minutes from downtown Whitefish and the golf course. "162" is very comfortable, well furnished and equipped. The owner, Kris, goes above and beyond to make your stay special. We will definitely return!

Not knowing really what to expect with an extended summer vacation in Whitefish, my wife and I were both extremely happy with the home, the accommodations, the owner was awesome! If you want to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors with deer and other animals, yet still have a very comfortable place to stay, I would strongly recommend this home. Kris, the owner, was willing to go out of her way to insure we had a great experience. The home comes with kayaks and bikes and even a high end canoe. As a property manager of over 20 homes in the Palm Springs area, I know when it's a 5 star place and when it isn't. This is definitely 5 Star!!! Thanks Kris for everything and we are excited to return next year!

Photos don't lie!
Hubby and I are in our last week of our month long stay and don't want to leave.
This is a rare home lusting in which the photos are accurate, but can't really show the true beauty of this well decorated home. We were greeted by a vase of fresh flowers, and then later the next day, by Kris, the owner. If 162 doesn't have it, Kris will go get it for you. Yet you shouldn't need anything as everything from bandaids and toothpaste to WD 40 and lens cleaner are available for your use. Hubby even found a well stocked liquor cabinet that he guiltily partook from. There are 2 bicycles with new helmets in the garage, and your choice of kayaks. The kitchen is well appointed and there are enough new towels in the bathroom to last 2 weeks if you were to use a fresh one everyday. The shower room has a heating element that I love on a cold day. One bedroom has a full bed that we did not use. 2 young children or one adult would be comfortable here. The other bedroom has 2 adjustable twin beds pushed together to form a king. There is a noticeable gap between the 2 beds that I actually liked as finally I could have a whole side to myself. Lovebirds may not care for it, but instead could have a electronic vibrating massage on one side. Both beds have mattress toppers and are a great sleep.
I spent much time outside on the deck on the skychair. Now, I have one in my Amazon shopping cart.
Big mountain, and, of course, Glacier Park are the big draws here, yet there are numerous other activities and attractions in Whitefish and neighboring towns.
One has to rent this house for at least 30 days, but even if you stay for only 10, it is a bargain.
I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for quiet and rest.

Location is prime. One Sixty Two is totally private yet within 2 miles of downtown Whitefish, Whitefish Lake beaches, health spa, healthy food store, fitness center, and more. It's two tenths mile from a Snowbus stop, serving Whitefish Mountain Ski Resort, and 6 miles from the base of the ski runs. One Sixty Two is surrounded by forested land with lots of jogging &/or hiking trails on which you'll want to take your bear spray and binocs, as wildlife abounds -- birds, deer, elk, bear, coyotes, mountain lions, etc.
