About eric mcintosh
John and I have always had the dream of opening an art gallery which would become a true destination and that dream has come true. The quarters were designed by John a former exec with Herman Miller, so the merchants quarters have a true mid century feel since
eric mcintosh purchased this Apartment in 2012

Wonderful Home! Great Location
This property is absolutely fabulous! The attention to detail has not been spared. The home is very clean and very well furnished. The gallery below is very nice as well as the Home Store next door. The yard was well maintained and very pretty. We had three adults and a toddler and there was plenty of room for all of us. As a travel agent, we have stayed in many rental homes and this is at the top of the list. The owners went out of their way to make sure things were perfect for us. We arrived after midnight and the lights and air conditioning were on and everything in perfect shape. There was not a blow dryer in the house but the owner brought us one in just a few minutes of calling him. Very pleasant to work with and we were extremely happy with every aspect of the rental. I will recommend this home to clients when visiting this wonderful town. It is very convenient to downtown without all the hassle of parking and traffic. Thank you Doug and John for helping us have a wonderful family vacation.
Gorgeous, comfortable, truly a home away from home
We greatly enjoyed our one-week stay in this gorgeous, walk-up apartment. The mix of modern and contemporary architecture and decor appealed to us as artists ourselves. It was a treat to be surrounded by original, genuine artwork in the unit, in the gallery below, and in the lovely gardens on the property. With all of the paintings, sculptures and pottery - as well as a plethora of art, architecture and photography books - the unit itself is like a gallery and art library. Doug was wonderfully welcoming and accommodating, and the staff at the R&B Home Collection store next door were very friendly.
The unit is very clean and comfortable, and there is plenty of convenient parking. The description on the website listing is accurate. We have rented many vacation homes over the years, and the king bed in this home's master bedroom is the most comfortable bed we've ever had in a rental! The master bedroom has a large closet with drawers, clothing rods and shelves. The kitchen is very well equipped with virtually every well-maintained appliance, dish and tool a renter could possibly need, and we were impressed with the quality of the items provided. There are also two or more outdoor grills. Bath towel sets, paper products, laundry detergent, soap and shampoo are stocked, so guests need only bring or buy their own preferred toiletries and appliances. This apartment is located only a mile from the Saugatuck business district, and the nearest grocer is a couple miles away in the neighboring town of Douglas, but we should have brought some of our own food for the first morning, as we didn't feel like shopping until the afternoon.
The only electronic equipment in the unit is the large TV in the living room, which receives just the main broadcast stations and some music stations, but no cable stations. However, it comes with Netflix and Internet, so you may watch anything accessed by those services. Although not specified on the website listing, there is also free wifi. But you'll be enticed by the screened porch overlooking the pretty backyard, the loungers on the outside stair landing, a table under a shade tree or the fire pit in the yard, and the two backyard patios adjoining the house, to spend time away from digital entertainment.
Saugatuck, known as the art coast of west Michigan is a wonderful place full of art galleries, great restaurants, wineries and theatre and is a great escape from
Chicago, Detroit and Indianapolis.
And of course one of the best beaches in the US.
