About Terri and Dave Mechling
We have been married for 25 years and coming to Grand Lake before we were married. We have raised three boys in Denver with Grand Lake being our second home. As a family we have water and snow skied, hiked hundreds of miles in the Rocky Mountain National Park and enjoyed everything life in the mountains has to offer.

The home is a dream come true for us, many years in the making. We have owned a cabin in the woods for over 25 years but have always wanted to be right on the lake. After many years of planning we have finally built our lake house. It's a dream location and puts us right in the heart of the village of Grand Lake.

Beautiful, clean, and relaxing!
It was a relaxing and luxurious place with a bull moose that regularly visited! My six-year old son had no problem playing in the cold lake, but it was too much for the adults—even in August! The playground was cute and had sand toys for the beach. We loved walking to meals, boat rental, mini golf, and go cart racing! The Rocky Mountain National Park West Visitors Center was within a quick drive and some trails were within walking distance. Thanks for the great family vacation and the many wonderful memories!
Lovely home, ideal location.
The house was very comfortable, the location amazing - right on the beach with a picture window overlooking the lake. Easy walking distance of the downtown and the marina. We loved it.
This was by far the best rental we have found through VRBO. The home was comfortable, clean, and easily accessible to EVERYTHING!!!. We had our own boat slip to use during our stay. Great family vacation with our grandchildren. We even had a deer come up to our window early one morning when we were up and having our coffee. I will definitely return and recommend this to other people.
Wonderful family friendly home
We stayed in Grand Lake for 5 nights for our son's wedding. The house was perfect for our family to be able to stay together and enjoy the special occasion. The house was very clean and was equipped with everything we needed. The view of the lake was breathtaking! We would definitely rent again!
Perfect Grand Lakefront home!
Our family of 6 adults and an infant and toddler had an amazing vacation at this beautifully decorated new home. Comfy beds ( 6), well stocked kitchen ingredients and appliances , many windows with full lake views, private beach - we had a terrific time!
Great Property and Equally Great Location
We had a great 5-day family vacation at the Lemmon Lodge lake house. The property was clean, comfortable, well appointed and stocked with everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. Even the weather was made to order! The house and grounds were exactly as pictured and described in the listing but renters should be aware that the sandy beach area in front of the house is communal property and not reserved for their exclusive use.
The only "blip" in our stay was a little unwanted entertainment on Saturday night in the form of live music at one of the local pubs up the street. It kept us up until 11:30 pm but this was only a minor annoyance and probably won't be an issue off-season.
One other thing renters should be aware of is that the 3% credit card transaction fee for the entire cost of the rental will be deducted from their security deposit before it is returned. I mistakenly thought 3% or $30 would be deducted from my $1,000 security deposit to reflect the transaction cost of refunding the deposit. This probably needs to be spelled out more clearly in the rental agreement as I have never uncounted it in any of my other HomeAway rentals. In all fairness, renters do have the option of paying by check or cash transfer but they forfeit the protections afforded by their credit card company by doing so.
My suggestion to all owners would be to recover their costs by pricing them into the daily rental charge. These kinds of nickle and dime add on charges just don't present well and I will avoid them, where possible, in all of my future rentals.

Lemmon Lodge is a condominium association with special rules and regulations that will be sent to you upon rental request. I will also be making a phone call prior to rental approval to make sure our home is a good fit for your stay.
