About Julia & Mat Davis
Matt and Julia have always loved the wilderness. Buying the Adirondack Great Camp represented a dream for the couple. While they stay here as much as possible, they do open the property up to renters to enjoy. We have many repeat renters. Recently we have decided to open up the prorperty for rent in June, September and the first half of October.
Julia & Mat Davis purchased this House in 2011
Why Julia & Mat Davis chose Long Lake
The Great Camp Estate -- Camp Kee-O-Nekh -- is a peaceful luxurious country estate retreat. Set just steps from the Lake, the front porch looks over the lake, and out into the wilderness behind it. Perfect site for a family get-a-way or a multi-generational family reunion. Fishing, Weekend Getaways, Fall Foliage (Summer is ONE WEEK MINIMUM RENTAL - Fall and Spring are 3- or 4-day weekends ONLY no exceptions). Fully stocked pantry with pots, pans, spices etc. This Great Camp was built in 1909 by a wealthy landowner from Georgia looking to escape the heat. When we came upon it, we were charmed by its complete privacy, its absolutely quiet - but yet complete - world within the heart of the Adirondacks. Hardwood Floors, modern kitchen, spring-fed water supply, wood stoves, 12 foot fireplaces, original antiques, a porch that spans the front of the house with a charming screened in porch, a lean-to that seats up to 20 people for a boathouse/waterfront. What could be better than this? Of yes - Birch Bark walls! That's right - it's an original!
What makes this House unique
Escape into a wilderness luxurious Adirondack lakefront estate. Sit in the hammock and look at the water, take an early morning kayak ride on a pristine, untouched spring-fed lake, fish in the reeds, waterski, paddle board or just relax! Have morning coffee on the front porch, watch the sun rise, the fish jump, and the loons dive for food. You might even see a moose or deer wandering about.

The location of this historic house is wonderful. We all enjoyed the swimming dock and our place on the waterfront. The kids had a blast swimming and fishing.
Thanks Al - We are so glad you enjoyed your stay!
Don't have to leave!
Two families with tweens and teens stayed and it was great! Plenty of outdoor stuff to do on property. We hardly left home except for for food rations and ice cream! We had a small electrical problem (things happen -- no big deal) and the owners got back to us immediately and got everything all fixed asap. Friendly and accommodating. If we come back to the area and want to stay together we would stay again.
So glad that you guys enjoyed your stay! Hope to host you again!!
Beautiful, charming, cozy
Highly recommend this house to all!
Best front porch! sitting and looking at beautiful long lake, reading a book, getting away from the busyness of life was just what we needed.
The kids just swam and kayaked and canon balled off thedock most days! I almost forgot how much we all love to be outside!!

Great to have a break from electronics but also able to get online if we needed!

Great family vacation spot
We brought our 3 adult kids, their spouses and 3 grandkids to Camp Kee-Oh-Nekh. So there were 11 of us and we all had comfortable places to sleep, eat, and play. We loved the rustic atmosphere and the kids spent lots of time at the waterfront swimming, fishing, kayaking and paddle boarding. We all spent lots of lazy hours reading and chatting on the huge front porch and by the campfire in the lean-to at night. The living room with its huge fireplace was another favorite gathering spot. We all took turns planning and cooking meals so it was such an enjoyable week. There is lots to do in the Long Lake area, but we found we didn't really want to leave the camp very much at all. It is that much fun! We are returning next summer for sure!
Long Lake is in the heart of the Adironacks. Air is fresh and clean, the view is breath taking. This is a true Adirondack Great Camp Estate Get-a-way.
