It is a very quite neighborhood. About 2 blocks from us, is the Washoe Meadows State Park, with lots of walking trails. Some will take you to the Upper Truckee River.
The house has easy access to both Y-area and Meyers, where a lot of restaurants, coffee shops and grocery stores are located. Heavenly Ski resort/Casinos and Sierra-at-Tahoe Ski resort are 10 to 15 minute drive.
Other Things to Note:
Leave the house as you found it. The housekeeping fee covers, cleaning and vacuum the house, make the beds, wash the sheets and towels. It does not include your personal dishes, pots and pans and Kitchen work surfaces. Please wash and put away all your own dishes, and leave the kitchen (other than the sink) as you found it. If you leave dishes, pots and pans and extra kitchen mess, you will be charged a minimum of $50.00 housekeeping fee against your security deposit.
You will need to remove your own garbage to the street locker at the end of the drive way.
This home is in the "urban interface". Bears roam the neighborhood. You must not leave food, dirty dishes out, and the house must be CLOSED UP and LOCKED down whenever you are not around. The bears are very destructive, and once they enter a home they always come back. These bears are eventually destroyed (euthanized/killed) by the State. Be clean and odor free.
Snow and ice are slippery. Watch your footing, especially on slopes -- even gentle slopes. Also, Do NOT walk or play near the edge of buildings if there is snow on the roof. During the winter roofs load with snow and ice (heavy and very hard) and can slide without warning. People have been seriously injured and killed by "roof avalanches". Caution and monitor children.
The driveway is plowed whenever more than 6 inches of snow accumulates. Do not park on the road during winter. Either your car will be buried in snow by the snow plow or towed away and ticketed.
