Why Dick Mulvihill chose North Side

My property was built in 1892 It's on a sunny spacious east and west exposure on a quiet tree lined street. Where street parking always available.

What attracted me to Bucktown was that it is a community with a varied mix of neighbors living next to one another; alongside the wealthier families was a working class population, and everyone hailed from a different part of the world.

During the19 80,’s young professionals moved back into the neighborhood and began restoring these old mansions to their previous single-family status. While this displaced much of the working class, the 90’s brought some balance to the area. Chicago artists and students moved into the area, lured by its affordability and proximity to the Loop. Today, as more and more Chicago restaurants and shops open in the neighborhood, as well as health care centers, day care centers, schools and churches, the area caters to an increasingly diverse and balanced mix of people.

The neighborhood was designated a Chicago Landmark District in 1991.

great place, great location

  • 5 of 5

Location is right. Restaurants, shopping, coffee, public transit are steps away as is the 606 -

a converted rail line great for walking and jogging. Easy access to the loop or O'Hare via blue line, and elsewhere in Chicago by frequent buses. Apartment was extremely comfortable and very well equipped. Getting in and out was easy. Would stay again for sure!!

Beautiful flat with modern kitchen In quiet neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

The flat has three sleeping spaces and provided a perfect solution for my mother and sister and me when we visited my brother's family, whose tiny apartment and new baby in Bucktown were just a 5-7 minute walk away. The flat had everything we needed, was quiet and safe and comfortable. Would definitely stay again!

Superb!

  • 5 of 5

Dick's place is a wonderful vacation spot. The neighborhood was wonderful and the apartment is awesome. It was clean and fresh, with enough room to sleep 5 or 6 even though there were only three of us. It is a drive to downtown as the traffic is always terrible, but if you use public transportation, it is a great place to stay any time of the year. I recommend it.

Great apartment

  • 5 of 5

Neighborhood is great. Good coffee shops, bars, etc. The 606 trail and playgrounds nearby made my runner husband and kids happy. The apartment living and dining room is big. As expected in a city apartment, the bedrooms are small, but fine for us. Everything we needed was available in the kitchen, but we didn't do any cooking besides breakfast.

Great location, Nice Apartment

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was convenient to shops, restaurants, grocery, trains. Quiet neighborhood with lots of families and young people. Apartment was lovely and comfortable. Porch on back was nice to sit on and relax. Only downside, might be that we couldn't find extra towels, and were required to wash our towels. I surely would think that the cleaning fee would be more than enough to cover something like this. have stayed numerous times in VRBO's and never had to do laundry as part of stay requirement. Other than that, found apartment to be most accommodating as advertised.
