Why Dick Mulvihill chose Bucktown
My property was built in 1892 It's on a sunny spacious east and west exposure on a quiet tree lined street. Where street parking always available. What attracted me to Bucktown was that it is a community with a varied mix of neighbors living next to one another; alongside the wealthier families was a working class population, and everyone hailed from a different part of the world. During the19 80,’s young professionals moved back into the neighborhood and began restoring these old mansions to their previous single-family status. While this displaced much of the working class, the 90’s brought some balance to the area. Chicago artists and students moved into the area, lured by its affordability and proximity to the Loop. Today, as more and more Chicago restaurants and shops open in the neighborhood, as well as health care centers, day care centers, schools and churches, the area caters to an increasingly diverse and balanced mix of people. The neighborhood was designated a Chicago Landmark District in 1991.

location location location is RIGHT
Want to visit the Chicago area and not spend a fortune on hotels? This is the answer. This apartment is located in the Bucktown area. A short walk from shopping, transportation and FOOD of all sorts. The EL train station is about a 10 minute walk. The El will take you where ever you heart desires in the Chicago area. If you don't want to take the train, then Uber and Lyft is usually a 2 - 5 minute wait. You can even have groceries delivered to your front door.
The apartment is on the top floor of a very cool brownstone building in a very NICE neighborhood. ALL the comforts of home PLUS more. The moment you walk in you are at ease from all of your travel worries. The neighborhood is historic and the homes are a site seeing experience in it's self. Don't let this one get away from you if you plan to be in the Chicago area. I give it 5+ stars. GO FOR IT!!
Location is fantastic! Quiet neighborhood but great access to restaurants and bars.
Living areas are nicely appointed. Kitchen is well equipped. Only negative is that towels and linens are tired - need replacing. And cleaners should do a better job - apartment needed a more thorough wipe down! Also, exterior door did not lock which was ultimately not a problem but might make some visitors uncomfortable. No door knob on one of the bedrooms either, so had to hook a finger to open the door!
A wonderful place in a great neighborhood!
Location, Location, Location! (The name of the apartment) is a very appropriate name. The neighborhood is fantastic. But the place is really where it shines! Nice, clean and cozy are words to describe the apartment...a home away from home. It's a quick Lyft ride to downtown. Stay here for your next trip to Chicago!
This Place has it all!
If you're looking for a place to stay in Chicago, look no further. Dick's place on Moffat street has it all. Not only does it have all the nice comforts of home, everything worked. We stayed for the month of June and never had an issue. Dick is delightful to work with. All my questions and concerns were answered in a timely matter His place is spacious, comfortable and has all the amenities you could ask for. Including in unit washer and dryer, which is not always easy to find in this type of unit. It was also very convenient to have access to the garage for parking, although there is plenty of street parking on this quiet and beautiful street in Bucktown.
We quickly discovered that Bucktown is a great location for whatever you would like to do in Chicago. For transportation the Blue line is a short walk. For exercise the Bloomingdale Trail is 3 blocks away. Many restaurants and bars are within walking distance. Here are some suggestions: Club Lucky, good Italian food and nice bar; The Map Room, great selection of beer and wine; Margies Candies for delicious ice cream. I can't say enough about Dick's place, it was our home for a month and we miss it.
great place, great location
Location is right. Restaurants, shopping, coffee, public transit are steps away as is the 606 -
a converted rail line great for walking and jogging. Easy access to the loop or O'Hare via blue line, and elsewhere in Chicago by frequent buses. Apartment was extremely comfortable and very well equipped. Getting in and out was easy. Would stay again for sure!!
Beautiful flat with modern kitchen In quiet neighborhood
The flat has three sleeping spaces and provided a perfect solution for my mother and sister and me when we visited my brother's family, whose tiny apartment and new baby in Bucktown were just a 5-7 minute walk away. The flat had everything we needed, was quiet and safe and comfortable. Would definitely stay again!
