Fresh, clean linens on beds and in bathrooms
Very nicely decorated and furnished
Drip coffee maker, microwave and full kitchen
Lots of nice fleece blankets and throws
No Wi-Fi service, no cell phone service
Emergency contact number disconnected
Some lights not working, including some exterior
Fireplace flue rusted so fireplace was a bit damp, used a duraflame logs to start fires
Overall a beautiful cabin and location. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Very bad experience
We rented for the weekend to take our child to visit App State's open house. We bought groceries before arriving to cabin and were looking forward to grilling steaks. The road to cabin is extremely long and winding. We were exhausted when we finally made it. Inside the cabin was freezing! We turned the air conditioner temperature up to warm cabin down (the AC is controlled by remote and there were no directions on how to do it). The grill was filthy so we decided to cook steaks in oven. Although we got the wifi code from the owner. Neither the wifi worked and we could not use our phones the next day to contact anyone regarding the problem with the AC. After the cabin finally warmed up we decided to turn temp back down and it never went down for the entire night and we were sweating all night long and while we were dressing for trip into Boone. Although we had rented the cabin for 2 nights we decided to cut our losses and to pack up and stay in a hotel in Boone. Cabin was cute and TV was nice but it's just way too far out unless you just plan to stay there your entire visit and don't
mind not being able to use your phone or have internet service.
This is a very bad review for us and although we have never had a guest give us such comments, I wanted to respond to you in order to make any future stay at a mountain a comfortable one for you.
In reference to the wifi, there is wifi at the property. You were given the wifi password with the instructions for check in/check out. At times because of the elevation, trees and weather that we can not control, the wifi will come and go. As to the air conditioner, I really don't know what to tell you, we have NEVER had a problem with guests staying during the cold and hot weather regarding how to use the remote control for the units. This property is well maintained and it is to our best interest and our goal to make sure that all our guests are welcomed and enjoying their stay. At times you might experience an issue and we are always here to help. You did not reach out to us during your stay and or gave us a call at our phone number which is listed in case of an emergency or questions, therefore, there is no way we could have known that you were having issues with the air unit and wifi. As to the grill this is very odd, the property gets serviced and throughly cleaned before and after each guests, I wish you would have notified us. Our cleaning crew lives at the mountain and is always available to help our guests and make your stay a wonderful one. I could understand that the road felt long for you, you are in the mountains and some roads may be longer than others. It is a beautiful drive getting here which I see you did not enjoy. It is ok, the mountains are not for everyone and I wish you would have notified us with your issues rather than give us a bad review. As you can see ALL our reviews have been nothing but great and our guests enjoy staying here.
I would be happy to give you a free night stay if you ever decide to come back to make it up to you. I do thank you for your review which helps us understand every guests needs and gives us ideas on how to make future guests better. Hope you have a great holiday this year! Thank you!
Internet did not work, in the middle of nowhere. No directions given by owner. GPS did not work
No pans that were usable
House was beautiful
Roads were scary
Quiet weekend "surrounded by nature"
Overall very relaxing weekend in a very clean and comfortable cabin. Well appointed with pretty much everything we needed. However, we do recommend getting groceries on the way in as the cabin is secluded. The entire property is very nice and we used the pool, the games in the clubhouse, and especially all the trails. The laminated trail map in the cabin was great! We used it every day to explore. We did have a minor issue with the satellite service but was very quickly fixed by the owner. Otherwise, a great weekend...thank you!
Cozy quiet place
The cabin was perfect! Beautiful area that was a little ways from town but perfect if you're wanting a relaxing and quiet mountain getaway. Great size and we had everything we needed. It's a beautiful cabin and we had a great time there.
We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay. Hope to have you stay with us again. Thanks so much!!
