(SVR-00448) The upper unit of a beautifully restored 1875 mansion, The Maian II is located in the Heyward House, in the Victorian District of Savannah. Built in 1875 for cotton factor Jacob Guerard Heyward and his wife Pauline deCaraduec Deyward, the Maian II is the only original Charleston-Single Style house in Savannah. Jacob was the great grandson of Thomas Heyward, one of the three representatives of South Carolina to sign The Declaration of Independence, thus making the connection to the Charleston-Single Style home.
Known for their large windows and high ceilings, Charleston Single Style homes are one room wide and typically faced the prevailing summer breezes in order to take advantage of Mother Natures natural AC.
Not to disappoint, the Maian II's large windows let in lots of light and it's porches are some the largest in Savannah. Perfect for sitting and enjoying a before- or after-dinner drink or afternoon mint julep while listening to the gentle ripple of the Koi pond in the courtyard.
The Maian II has been lovingly restored to reflect it's history yet includes many modern day amenities. Each apartment has 3 bedrooms, full kitchen, internet, tv and a private porch all their own!
Your stay at The Maian II will leave you feeling like you have experienced just a bit of what living was like in 1875 Savannah!
