Great little cabin
This location was perfect for our use. They had everything we we looking for and were very well organized. I would stay here again if i am in this area.
My entire family had an amazing week at the cabin. It was so cozy and comfortable with an amazing kitchen stove for preparing large breakfasts. We really enjoyed hanging on the back deck at night playing card and board games and huddling around the fire pit. The lake was great and the fishing was pretty darn good too. I would definitely rent this property again!
My family had a wonderful time, and our littles particularly loved the sandy beach down the road. The owners were very nice. The screened-in porch was a real treat. I liked the quietness of the location, coupled with the proximity to Bridgton and North Conway. We’d love to return to this special spot!
Disappointed on Moose Pond
My husband and I have been renting cabins/villas for 23 years, so we have a great deal of experience. Unfortunately, this was not a good experience for us. We both like to cook and would have preferred more cooking utensils, e.g., pots and pans, a working can opener, and a less dangerous stove. My husband tried to light it for the first time and burned the hairs off his forearm. We have a gas stove at home, so we know how to use them. We understand that this rental was "pet friendly," but that doesn't mean that it should smell like a wet dog and that dog hair was on the floor, as well as in the sheets. The couch also smelled. Although we were disappointed with the cabin, we did, however, enjoy the kayaks and were out on the lake every morning.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were in the area for our son's wedding, and are a larger than average family with six children-our now married son being 23 who stayed with us for a few nights, to our 9 year old. There were enough beds for everyone and those beds were comfortable. We stayed a week before the wedding, and the week after. We appreciated very much the kayaks and canoe. We loved lake/nature sounds, and the porch and swings. Our children enjoyed trying to fish, as that is something we don't get to try often. My 17 year old son especially found the opportunity a plus. We were never sure how to use the gas oven, so didn't. Beautiful stove, but must admit to not feeling confident in using it. We weren't all that crazy about the beach/swim area. Even our dog loved cabin life, so thank you for allowing her to come with us. She liked her "boy" taking her out in the kayak, and resting on the porch watching the lake. We enjoyed hiking on a Brownfield trail, a trip to Bar Harbor, and a trip to Star Island via ferry out of Portsmouth. We also enjoyed exploring Fryburg a bit, and spent time in Bridgton too...especially at the laundromat. LOL. Thank you for the use of your home. Blessings.

Congratulations on your son's wedding and so glad all of you had such a good time. Quality family time is priceless!
Beautiful cabin, very responsive owners!
We enjoyed our stay immensely. The water was high enough to leave our boat at the dock, but it wasn't deep enough to swim on the frontage (and was too weedy to be safe). Nevertheless, there is a small public beach a short walk away with nice folks and safe waters for the children. The cabin itself was stocked with all you would need for a week or two stay, minus food of course. It is relatively small, but certainly sleeps 8 with ease. There's even things there for the family to do if it rains or snows (board games, card games, movies, books). The Holdens were very responsive to my questions, and I never felt ignored or overlooked. For anglers, I would say it was a bit disappointing, in that we fished all week on Moose pond and came up ALMOST empty. I understand from locals that there are derbies or tournaments fished there. However, this is not the only 'fishin hole' nearby, so we struck gold elsewhere on the last night of our stay. Overall, I'd do it again in a heartbeat!
