Come and escape to our mid city getaway~~~
We have a heated pool (japoolzzi!!) a hot tub and a covered brick patio all waiting for you to enjoy!
A fantastic location, nestled in the heart of mid city, in a traditional New Orleans neighborhood boasting old homes and light commerce. Breakfast, lunch and dinner across the street, yoga in stretching distance. Convenient to the streetcar, cemeteries, French Quarter,City Park & Bayou St. John, always easy to get to the festivals. We are in the middle! Everything just minutes away! Bikes available.
Our home is built in the traditional New Orleans raised basement style. On the ground floor, we have created a freshly renovated living space for up to 6 guests to come and enjoy. The apartment is cozy and fresh, with direct access to our old New Orleans brick patio, spa and the "japoolzzi"--- our little warm, bubbly pool!
We aimed to create a "home away from home" feel with our eclectic mix of mid century and classic furnishings. There are 3 bedrooms-----each with it's own personality.
The front king and queen rooms have flat screen tv's and piles of pillows on super comfy beds. These rooms share a full bath with shower and deep soaking tub.
The king "mega suite" is in a world of it's own. With a private entrance from the patio, lovely and relaxing---a cozy cave, with a big comfy king size bed and piles of pillows. A private bathroom with large walk-in shower would seem to complete the luxury, but there's more! There are two 55"smart tv's and a quality stereo system in the lounge space----not to mention full "wet bar - plus" to fulfill king size needs.....
We've included fluffy robes for all to luxuriate in before or after a relaxing dip in the spa or "japoolzzi"---or while you enjoy just being away from it all.
Both kitchen and wet bar are complete and ready to get cookin' ! Whether you're here for two days or two months, you will have all the amenities you need----from the basics to 2 Keurig coffee makers(stocked with coffee!), 2 blenders(for all your smoothie---or cocktail!---needs), toaster, 2 toaster ovens and 2 dishwashers, to make clean up a breeze. Don't forget the gas grill, just outside the door!
The main den has a table for two and lounging space for relaxation. With an additional 60" smart tv and a quality stereo system in this room, there will be no fights over the remote control!
-an ice machine with pellet ice and with filtered water and another ice machine with little squares
-natural gas grill
-awesome japoolzzi(small, heated pool) and spa
-chill outdoor space

We are native New Orleaneans with a passion for our city and a zest for life. We built our home with the intention of sharing it with others, that they may understand the true hospitality and generous spirit of our hometown. We're self employed and our employers are always changing our job description! Our wedding vows included the phrase," I promise that it will never be boring". In more than ten years, it hasn't.
Why brady chose Mid-City
Our home is located in the heart of New Orleans in the mid city neighborhood. We're 1/2 block from the Canal St. streetcar, near the Carrollton Ave. intersection. Hop on and head to the French Quarter, the Superdome or back the other way to check out the cemeteries or to City Park to go to NOMA or get some coffee and beignets at Morning Call or just stroll through the sculpture garden. Being in mid city gives you easy access to uptown, downtown and the French Quarter, as well as City Park, Bayou St. John and the Fairgrounds where Jazz Fest is held. Actually, it's a great place to be for Mardi Gras, French Quarter Fest, Jazz Fest, Bayou Boogaloo, VooDoo Fest----- all the fests are convenient when you're in mid city! Bottom line is, you can get anywhere in the city in 15 minutes or less --- mid city is awesome! The Ruby Slipper restaurant and Mandina's restaurant are just out the door---so many restaurants and bars within easy walking distance! Blue Dot donut shop, Brocato's icecream and Smoothie King are right down the street. You can walk to Walgreen's and Rouse's grocery store just a few short blocks away. We even have a yoga studio in stretching distance! The house was clean, well prepared for us, and lots of attention to detail was had!
The owners communicated very well and were so accommodating! We had a great stay!!
WOW --- what a great find!!!
Spent a few days at this fabulous location at the end of January. Visited with my husband, our 2 grown children and a couple of their friends. Everyone had a great time, due in part, to our stay at Lesterland. It was great for our mixed age group. Everyone had plenty of space. The beds were super comfy. Everything was clean and well maintained. Some snacks and bubbly drinks available on our arrival (much appreciated). The patio with the hot tub and the japoolozi were greatly enjoyed....especially by the kids. A wonderful restaurant 1/2 block away along with the streetcar. Uber to the French Quarter was anywhere from $13 - $15 (depending on time of day). Super convenient...Doody and Brady very responsive...Doody even made us cookies for our journey home (they were delicious). Highly recommend!!!
Property was great, everything we could have asked for.
The house was a great retreat from the Kong’s day spent out and about in New Orleans. It was a great place to have the whole group meet back at the house and have a couple beers before retreating off to bed to recharge for the next day. Look forward to the next time we head back to New Orleans!
Clean, charming, thoughtfully doctorated, a relaxing experience.
My friends and I stayed at Brady and Doody's Mid-City apartment for three nights. Doody greeted us when we arrived and showed us around, explaining how to operate the TV's/radios/jacuzzi along the way. She was incredibly helpful, welcoming, and so personable, we immediately felt at ease.
The property is beautifully kept, and the location is perfect. It's a short Uber/Lyft/street car to all the main attractions. They really have thought of everything you might need on your stay, from the dishes and glassware, to the soap in the shower. Brady and Doody were right next door if we needed anything. The day we left, Doody let us keep our bags onsite so that we could explore the city unencombered before our flight.
I have tried to think of some constructive criticism for this apartment, but I can't think of anything. I don't think it's possible for it to be nicer, it was the perfect space for our girl's weekend.
Lovely, Fun Rental
The rental was clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated, with many thoughtful touches in the kitchens and bathrooms. We lacked for nothing! The beds were very comfortable and the japoolzzi was amazing. Two takeaways from this experience - if you want great sleep, get a comfortable bed and remove most or all natural light (we all agreed this was some of the best sleep we've ever had), and if you want a great little pool to cool off, get an enormous jacuzzi and fill it with slightly cool water (you cool off, get a water massage, and get to play in bubbles)! Our hosts were lovely people and their property caretaker was very kind and helpful. Thank you for a great stay!!!
Peaceful, Private, Amazing
Great place to stay! Would definitely come again. The place was clean and literall had everything for you to relax. The host werr friendly and available when needed. Highly recommend this place for your vacation or getaway
