'Shared Dream' at 93 West 2nd Street.
Located at the beach closest to Charleston SC, voted by Travel + Leisure visitors as THE TOP CITY IN THE WORLD TO VISIT, and TOP CITY IN THE U.S. TO VISIT FIVE YEARS RUNNING, this luxury townhome is located at Water's Edge, a cul-de-sac community of Charleston-style townhomes. Water's Edge is located on the beautiful and scenic Folly River, just a few short blocks from the beach and eclectic town of Folly. Folly is a beach town with a laid back island charm, known by residents as the 'Edge of America.' It is a family beach community with undeveloped parks on either end of the island and a newly-enlarged recreational boat landing just 1 block from Waters Edge.
Our Three Bedroom, Three Bathroom, 1600 square-foot townhome sleeps six (upstairs there is a king in the master and a queen in the guest bedrooms; downstairs, there is a queen in the bedroom). The home includes many upgrades including hardwoods throughout, granite countertops, ten-foot ceilings. A screened porch on the main level and a second-floor balcony off the master bedroom provide beautiful views of the marsh and river. There are flat screen TVs in each room (40" in master), all including the HBO collection (HBO1, HBO2, Family, Signature, Comedy); the den and master TVs are smart and connected to the home wireless - hello Netflix! The home also has Sonos(R) sound system with speakers in the den and master bedroom. There is also a 240V electric vehicle charger in the garage.
There is no end to the fun and activities your family and guests can enjoy. Start the day with a slow bike ride around the island or on the beach (bikes are included for your use). If you prefer, you can walk to the beach and soak up the sun and expansive surf of Folly Beach, where you can rent jet skis, surfboards, windsurfers and sailboats. Or you can take advantage of the family-friendly 1,000-foot fishing pier, also within walking distance. Of course, you can also stay right at Waters Edge, which includes a community pool and a community dock, both great places to enjoy fabulous sunsets over the Folly River. You can always explore the quaint town of Folly Beach, and its surf shops, great seafood restaurants, and local bars. Or take the short 10-15 minute drive to Charleston and enjoy all it has to offer - history, culture, antebellum mansions, world-class restaurants, and nightlife.

Why Kevin chose Waters Edge
We both grew up in Charleston and still have family there.

Water’s Edge was a terrific homebase.
We wanted a place to gather with our adult children and explore Charleston and the surrounding area. Water’s Edge worked very well. It was fresh and clean on arrival. The air conditioning kept both levels plenty cool, a welcome relief after hours on the go. The garage easily held our two cars and was equipped with bicycles and beach gear. We liked exploring the island on the bikes which had easily adjustable seats. One glitch: the remote garage door opener worked to open the door, but not to close it. Not a huge problem; we just had to close it from the wall, then run thru the house and out the front door. The pool and dock area were nice features.
We spent a fair amount of time on the porch. It was lovely to sit outside and visit, tho the seat on the loveseat was broken and not very comfortable. We could have used more seating in the living area, too. We moved chairs back and forth from the porch, depending where we wanted to gather.
One bath towel and wash cloth were supplied per person. Hand towels, kitchen towels, even additional bath towels would have been appreciated. Hand soap and dishwasher detergent were provided, but no bath soap or shampoo.
The kitchen had plenty of cutlery, dishes, and cookware for our use (breakfast).
Water’s Edge was a great place for our family. We liked the accessibility to downtown Charleston and the beach. We would book this property again, if ever we have the opportunity to return to the area.
Great house and perfect area for us to enjoy the Charleston area and the wedding we came to town for
House is in great shape and very comfortable.
First Time in Folly Beach - Great Location
There were 3 couples so this townhouse was a good size - 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Everything was exceptionally clean and the location was excellent. We walked to 3 different restaurants for dinner and had a very good experience at each. I had to contact the owner twice - once to ask about wifi login/password and to inquire about checkout instructions. In both instances, Kevin returned our call and email within minutes. Such good customer service is very appreciated.
We have suggestions for improvement: 1) Update the living room, dining room and porch furniture. All were pretty worn out and not comfortable. The drapes were torn and overall this part of the rental was disappointing. On the other hand, the beds were very comfortable and we all slept well. Good choice of bed linens. So soft. 2) We each had one hotel sized bath towel and one washcloth. No handtowels. We could have brought from home, but believed they would be provided. An additional towel per person would have been welcomed. Also, there were no kitchen towels. No sponge, no potholders, nothing. Again, we would have been happy to bring with us, but didn't know. 3) This unit would not accommodate those with physical limitations. The stairs going into the unit were steep and the stairs inside the unit going up to the second floor were as well. This can't be remedied, but should be pointed out in the on-line description. 4) Both of the tension shower curtain rods fell. No towel bars in the bathrooms. There was a hook on the back of the door, but insufficient to hang wet towels - although there were not many towels to hang up as I said before.
This may sound like we disliked this unit - we didn't. These shortcomings can be easily remedied and we would definitely stay here again. The weather was such that we didn't use beach chairs or the bicycles, but we had an excellent time. Thank you, Kevin, for being so accessible and accommodating.
Paige, thanks so much for the feedback - agree wholeheartedly. Have plans to replace all referenced furniture. And sorry about the towels - have already addressed with our cleaning service.
3 Bed, 3 Bath was perfect. Bikes and wagon and garage was a bonus. Easy walk to lots of shops and restaurants
Kristine, glad you enjoyed your stay - let us know what we can do to get that 5th star next time!
Folly Beach Thanksgiving
Nice time was had by all. Great location.
Thanks Wesse - hope your family enjoyed the holiday!!
Lovely house, perfect location
We stayed 7 nights in November with 4 adults, but the house is well equipped for 6. The location is perfect for visits to Charleston and all the sites around town. We especially enjoyed being able to walk to the beach, to the pier and the restaurants! Loved the bicycles to scout out the island! The house is lovingly furnished and we felt very at home there.
Looking forward to come back some day!
Rainer, thanks so much for the wonderful review!! I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay and will gladly provide the champagne when you return!!
