About Kim Bullock
As the third generation of our family at this property, we were drawn to the area and decided to make Leadville our home. We love the small community and all the outdoor activities the area offers. We can ski, bike or hike right out our front door, without the crowds or the price tag of our county neighbors. The cabin was built in the 1960s by the Leadville High School shop class and had been unloved for quite some time. We build homes and were delighted to bring back its formal charm.
Kim Bullock purchased this Cabin in 1966
Why Kim Bullock chose Leadville
Thirty plus private acres for you to explore by foot, bike, x-country, snowshoe, you name it. When you've seen that, continue deeper into the national forest on trails to Mt Massive and Mt Elbert. You can easily access the powerline portion of the Trail/MBT 100 or have your family cheering in front of the Chalet on Hwy 300. A wonderful family hike awaits at the Fish hatchery just one mile from the cabin. For those hearty souls, you can take out from your door to connect with the Colorado Trail behind the Chalet. To complete your summer climbing trip we'd love for you to include the climb of Mt Cosgriff @ 13588, named for the patriarch of the Soda Springs Chalet.
What makes this Cabin unique
A deluxe sauna on the ground floor awaits your happily tired bodies after a day of playing at the Soda Springs Chalet. The Chalet has private location but easy access, only 10 minutes to historic downtown Leadville on a county maintained road. 25 minutes to Ski Cooper, 5 minutes to Mt. Massive Golf course. & 40 minutes to Copper Mountain.

The place was wonderful!
The place very charming, well stocked and very comfortable! We had everything we needed! Would highly recommend this place! We were all very happy we picked this place!
This was a nice cabin for our family to enjoy a summer retreat to the mountains.
Very clean and well maintained property. We had 5 family members and it was comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook-in a few nights. Location was sufficiently isolated to be away from the crowds, but close enough to run to Leadville, fish Turquoise Lake, and fly fish down the Arkansas river. Thanks Kim.
Great location in a place that had everything
The location was quiet, wooded, and beautiful. It was close to Turquoise Lake, Twin Lakes and Leadville. The outfitting was superb and the place lacked for nothing. The kitchen was very well equipped. Kim was very quick to answer all our questions. Others have said all this much better than we can so we'll just add that if you are a pickle ball player, the paddle tennis court works just fine. We had a great time on it. We found indoor balls worked better than outdoor balls. If you are more serious than us, and if the owner didn't mind, you could bring wide masking tape and put pickle ball lines on the court. You won't regret staying here and we hope to come again.
Great place to stay, great amenities
This is, without a doubt, the best outfitted place we have ever stayed. Very clean, good instructions and directions on things to see and do. Beds and pillows are very comfortable. Great value for the money. We would stay there again.
Relax in the woods
My husband, toddler and two fur babies stayed at this Chalet last week and it’s tucked away nicely at the bottom of Mt. Massive in the woods. It gives you a great sense of peace and relaxation sitting off the road in a small wooded area. The surroundings of trees and up the hill a beautiful waterfall greet you no matter what time of day.
Kim had everything you could need waiting (from Paper towels, dish soap, dishes, pots and pans, Tupperware, towels, etc.). Opening the windows during the day and sometimes at night was the perfect air conditioning. My husband used the sauna and really enjoyed it.
The one thing to note (and it wasn’t a problem for us) but the steps inside the house (upstairs loft and downstairs to utility area/sauna) are very narrow and no handrails. If you’re disabled or have a hard time with stairs, please consider this. Again, it’s not anything bad, just want to note this for anyone that may be wondering.
You’re very close to Turquoise Lake and not far from town. We’d definitely stay there again. Thanks so much for letting us stay at the Chalet!
Great Fishing Hideaway
We loved our stay! The cabin turned out to be unexpectedly close to Turquoise Lake and was 10 -12 minutes from the site where the river/stream enters the lake which is the best spot to fish. The place was very livable, Kim was very helpful and the sauna was a nice way to end each day. If you’re looking to get away from the world for a while then this is a great place to do it!
