About Kim Bullock
As the third generation of our family at this property, we were drawn to the area and decided to make Leadville our home. We love the small community and all the outdoor activities the area offers. We can ski, bike or hike right out our front door, without the crowds or the price tag of our county neighbors. The cabin was built in the 1960s by the Leadville High School shop class and had been unloved for quite some time. We build homes and were delighted to bring back its formal charm.
Kim Bullock purchased this Cabin in 1966
Why Kim Bullock chose Leadville
Thirty plus private acres for you to explore by foot, bike, x-country, snowshoe, you name it. When you've seen that, continue deeper into the national forest on trails to Mt Massive and Mt Elbert. You can easily access the powerline portion of the Trail/MBT 100 or have your family cheering in front of the Chalet on Hwy 300. A wonderful family hike awaits at the Fish hatchery just one mile from the cabin. For those hearty souls, you can take out from your door to connect with the Colorado Trail behind the Chalet. To complete your summer climbing trip we'd love for you to include the climb of Mt Cosgriff @ 13588, named for the patriarch of the Soda Springs Chalet.
What makes this Cabin unique
A deluxe sauna on the ground floor awaits your happily tired bodies after a day of playing at the Soda Springs Chalet. The Chalet has private location but easy access, only 10 minutes to historic downtown Leadville on a county maintained road. 25 minutes to Ski Cooper, 5 minutes to Mt. Massive Golf course. & 40 minutes to Copper Mountain.

One of my favorite places to stay. The perfect home in the perfect location.
I will be staying at this property again. The location is perfect for endless peaks, yet also convenient to town. The setting in the Mt Massive wilderness area is beautiful. The house is perfectly equipped as always. And the sauna is so nice to come home to after a long day of climbing.
Great Place for Quiet Relaxation
We had a great stay at the cabin! The Sauna was great and space was great for our family of 4 plus our dog. The kitchen was well supplied and it was easy to find. It is a drive to town but that's exactly what we wanted. The fact it was on the 100 mile run course was great for bringing back memories of my 2013 attempt. (while i was still feeling good, ha ha). I wish I had known the paddle tennis court was not cleared. We tried to clear it off but there was just too much snow. Otherwise the visit was great and Kim was super easy to work with and is a great communicator.
Hi Kenyon and thank you for your review. Sorry you were not able to use the paddleball court. I did make an adjustment in our description that it a seasonal amenity. Hope to have you as a guest again.
Clean, Convenient and Private
Stayed week of March 10th. Visiting from Tampa and did some skiing at Ski Cooper and some exploring. Cabin was just what we were looking for for our family of four. Clean, well stocked and easy access to Leadville, Ski Cooper and surrounding areas. Kim was attentive and willing to help us out with a delivery. Would stay again for sure.
Fantastic winter vacation
We had a fantastic winter vacation. The house is less than 30 minutes from Ski Coooper and is absolutely gorgeous. The sauna feels awesome after a long day of skiing. We had plenty of space for the three of us. Kitchen had more than everything we needed. The house is very conveniently, yet absolutely privately located. Kim is one of the most generous and caring host we had ever met. Thank you so much Kim, we would love to come back.
Kim was great. The house is a quaint little mountain gem with an indoor sauna & awesome hills for snowshoeing. 15 minutes to Ski Cooper which was a terrific bargain and had amazing snow.
Great Family Vacation!
The chalet is beautiful - tucked in a grove of pine tress on the side of the mountain with over a front of snow - we could not have asked for more. The amenities are far more than we expected with a full washer/dryer, full kitchen with lots of little extras, beautiful bathrooms and showers as well as the sauna. Ski Cooper was a very short drive and was a great place to introduce our daughters to the joy of snowboarding. Thank you Kim for sharing you lovely place!
