Absolutely Fantastic Cabin

  • 5 of 5

I can't recommend this location strongly enough. Carol has an amazing place. Believe it or not, the pictures don't do the space justice - it was significantly larger than I had envisioned. I wanted to stay in the living room for as long as possible - comfortable (and no muss) fireplace, incredible windows and comfortable chairs . . ..Ample room for four adults and three young kids (4, 5 and 8). My oldest was quite upset that we left and insisted that we come back as soon as possible (which is the plan); my youngest couldn't complain as he was too tired from playing in all the snow.

Bedrooms were spacious and comfortable; ample stocked kitchen for preparing meals.

Great Summer Rental Home!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I brought four teenagers to this amazing house and had a wonderful time! There was room for everyone to either spend time together or get plenty of elbow room to be alone. It felt like the owners had thought of everything when creating this lovely rental...lots of towels, extra blankets and pillows. There was a new sponge for cleaning dishes and brand new bars of soap for the showers, as well as laundry soap and a spare propane tank for the BBQ. Everything worked nicely, and there must be a nice water heater because even after all 7 of the others taking a shower I was still able to get a nice hot shower myself.

The owner had a lot of great tips, suggestions and websites she offered about our visit. Echo Lake is very close to the house, and has a really nice trail that is part of the Pacific Crest Trail. It was really fun to cross paths with so many serious hikers! Afterward, we grabbed the water taxi back down to our starting point and were able to grab some food at the store.

We also kayaked on Echo Lake because it was so much more serene than Tahoe. It was an awesome experience! Very peaceful and of the few people we passed on the water, everyone was very friendly. That might have been the highlight of our trip!

One of the best things about this house was being away from the busy-ness of South Tahoe but still being able to get to things easily. We rented a boat at Camp Richardson, visited the Tallac Historic Site and spent some time at The Shops at Heavenly Village, all without feeling like we had to drive that far.

All in all, a great location and a really well maintained rental house to call home for your Tahoe adventure.

Perfect Mountain Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for secluded mountain cabin and found one. It is surrounded by amazing mountains, hiking trails with waterfalls and wild nature. Great location for children to play in the nature or just around the house and be safe. 10 min drive to the water: lower Horsetail falls, Echo Lake or 20 min drive to the Lake Tahoe .Cabin was very clean an cosy. It has modern feel with large windows and huge outside deck for hanging around, to have wine and to look at the mountain tops. Owners are super nice and responsive. Highly recommend to visit.

Regular Renters - Great family spot

  • 5 of 5

This is our go to spot for Tahoe ski vacations - it's practically on Sierra at Tahoe's property - very close. The location can't be beat. It's about 15 minutes to South Lake Tahoe (city).

The house is well appointed (seating, tables, kitchen), clean, and feels new. The common space is pretty big, good for 2 families with 4 kids total. It's located in a flat valley with plenty of room for kids to run around outside, well away from any roads. We love playing in the snow in the woods outside the house. The house is extremely well insulated, even on the coldest days, it's warm and comfy inside.

The owners are always accommodating, flexible, and just a phone call away. We've been renting here yearly for 4 years and plan to continue doing so.

Best Cabin I have rented

  • 5 of 5

I have rented 6 other cabins in the last few years in CA, UT and NM.

This was our favorite.

Large, well stocked, kitchen open to family room.

Everything in the house is nice and clean. Super comfortable master bed.

Great deck.

Carol was extremely nice and accommodating.

I highly recommend this place.

The only drawback, and I was hugely happy with this place, is that you can sometimes hear cars on highway 50.

You can trust the long list of great reviews for this place.

nice location, relaxing space

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the house over July 4th and really enjoyed using at a base for exploring the area. It is in a terrific location, we were able to avoid the holiday crowds and had easy access to tons of hiking trails. We liked the natural light of the house and the woods surrounding. It backs right up to skiing, so we might consider a winter stay. The owner was very responsive and helpful.
