About Lyle and Shelly Wattles
We are Lyle and Shelly Wattles. We live near the camp and purchased the property to enjoy ourselves as well as rent to vacationers who love the area as much as we do. Shelly owns a real estate company in Galeton, Pine Creek Real Estate. We love all of the outdoor activities that the Pine Creek Valley has to offer. We hope to make your stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible.

Why Lyle and Shelly Wattles chose Gaines
With almost one half an acre, you can enjoy the mountain views and relaxing atmosphere in side or out all year long. The full ring fire pit is available for a summertime campfire. Only a few minutes to fine dining and kayak/canoe rentals. Although we are not right on Pine Creek, it's views are right across the road.

The cabin is in quiet wooded area. Well maintained, beautifully decorated, charming, cozy and inviting. It has a dreamy atmosphere! The fire pit was a bonus. Lyle and Shelly were great hosts! Would highly recommend!
relaxing and very enjoyable
clean and very well taken care of
I can't say enough about this property! The owners are so friendly and the communication is great! The property itself is beautiful, very clean and has everything you could need. The kitchen is well stocked with pots & pans, dishes & glasses, etc. The bathroom has plenty of fresh linens. The bed is very comfortable and the living space is very cozy. The location is close enough to dining and entertainment but far enough away from regular town traffic.
We enjoyed a very relaxing and peaceful weekend in this cottage and I would absolutely stay here again in the future! I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to get away, relax and recharge!

Pictures don't do Justice
This was a great cabin and the online pictures don't do it justice. It is much roomier than it appears. We had a great relaxing weekend in the woods.
All the comforts of home!
The cabin is lovely and in a great location for exploring our favorite spots and finding a few new ones. The biggest challenge was deciding whether to spend time out and about or just relaxing at the cozy cabin. There are a number of other cabins nearby, but none so close that you do not have significant privacy. In addition, everyone we came across was so friendly and gave a big wave as we drove by. The kitchen was stocked to allow for easy cooking, but there were great restaurants within easy driving distance, so we mixed it up.
Outdoor recreation can be enjoyed right outside the cabin door. The roads along the drive to the cabin are open to ATV's. Fishing is very popular on Pine Creek with the season starting in April. When the creek is up to a 2.5 level many kayaks, rafts, and canoes will be traveling Pine Creek right past the cabin. There are two rental facilities within a five mile distance that carry kayaks, canoes, and bicycles along with all the accessories. The summer gives way to the Pine Creek Rail Trail which runs 62 miles and is a 7 mile drive from the cabin. Hiking and Bicycling are very popular on the trail during the spring, summer, and fall months. The fall foliage throughout the entire area has a spectacular effect on its viewers during the months of September and October. The Pennsylvania Grand Canyon can be seen from the west brim and is a 11.5 mile drive. The dark skies of Cherry Springs brings many area astronomers. Lyman Run State Park's lake is nestled within the Pennsylvania mountains. Many fisherman and kayakers enjoy the lake during the summer months. There is also a beach for swimming there.
Galeton is located ten miles away and has many unique shops right along Main Street (Route 6). Wellsboro is the county seat of Tioga County and is 15.3 miles from the cabin. There are many events throughout the year held there including Dickens of a Christmas in December and the famous Laurel Festival in June.
