About Rodney & Marnie

We're a bi-coastal couple who love being home and also love traveling. Yes, you can have it both ways. I am a migrant film worker making movies in New Orleans and Hollywood. Marnie is director of programs at a non-profit that benefits children with special needs. We cam to New Orleans to work and fell in love with the city. We now spend too much time in Los Angeles, and as much time as we can in our favorite city, New Orleans.

Bucket List getaway greetings from Texas!

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed at these beautiful duplexus for my mother in law who has lung cancer. She has a bucket list of things she wants to do so NOLA was #1! My family of four was on one side and my in-laws in the other duplex. Both units were immaculate, spacious and had everything we needed. We felt like we were back at home! Hot water never ran out with everyone showering at the same time so that was a plus! Kitchen had all you needed plus more. Beds were comfortable, and i'm a stickler when it comes to a good mattress. We were out of the homes for most of the day, but would always love coming back. Parking was always available, and we were in close proximity to everything we needed to get to. We had a sweet little black cat on the back porch that would greet us every morning. :) We will definetly be returning for a longer stay and I urge anyone looking to book this property to do the same!

Great house in great area of NOLA!

  • 5 of 5

House was perfect for myself and 9 friends. Everybody had more than enough room for sleep and play. The kitchens were very nice and roomy. There are two very nice restaurants near by and a wonderful seafood restaurant not too far walking distance. Rodney and Marie were very responsive and helpful. Overall great vacation, thanks!

Excellent stay for work trip to NOLA

  • 5 of 5

My company rented both sides of this duplex plus another nearby vacation home to house our staff while working a conference at Tulane. The house was beautiful and we would definitely stay there again. It was very easy to find street parking for our rental vehicles, and the location was walkable enough for food -- it was a super close walk to French Truck Coffee, Wayfare, and Dat Dog, which folks enjoyed. This was an awesome house, perfect for getting work done, comfy furniture, beautiful artwork, and the wifi was great.

Since we stayed in different locations in NOLA, we collected feedback afterward -- here are some minor issues that staff reported after our stay:

Left side house (#6):

- master bathroom sink drain was clogged

Right side house (#8):

- would have been nice to have coffee filters

- Upstairs shared bathroom fan didn't work and shower was very difficult to switch from bath to shower, so kept on shower once we were able to pull the little lever up.

One of the downstairs bathrooms (not sure which) had a light that was out.

Again, minor issues, but since they were brought up I might as well pass them on. We would definitely come back!

Great home with an amazing location

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed our time at this property. All of my friends were extremely pleased with the home and were so glad we went this route instead of trying to coordinate a hotel block of rooms.

Our hosts were awesome...we found out the first morning that one of the coffee makers wasn't working - we sent a message and came home that afternoon to a brand new coffee maker in the kitchen.

My only suggestions would be to get a handyman in to do some fix-ups when they have a chance and install an on demand hot water heater. If you weren't the first or second person in the shower in the AM - you got a very cold shower (water pressure was an issue occasionally as well)

Parking in the very front of the house was good - except a neighbor liked to take the entire area by parking his pick up truck so it took the spots that both of our vehicles could have fit in - but plenty of parking around the corner (visible from the kitchen)

Street Car was walking distance- so getting anywhere in the city was a breeze and UBER/LYFT was always an option.

Several neat places to eat nearby - coffee shop around the corner and FAT CAT was a nice morning walk to grab breakfast and High Hat was a nice evening stroll for drinks or dinner.

We would definitely stay at this property again if they would have us. So glad we had thsi opportunity - you helped make my wife's birthday celebration truly memorable.

The house was everything we had hoped for. Spacious, comfortable and clean.

  • 5 of 5

The master bedroom in each duplex had a large window high up over the bed. While it provided lots of light during the day, it also allowed light from a streetlight during the night making it difficult to fall asleep.

Great place to stay!!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a group of 8 that stayed - it was a first time for all of us in New Orleans. The location of the home was very good - we were close enough to walk to the street car and hop on for a short ride to the French Quarter, Bourbon Street, etc. We did a lot of walking while we were there and felt very safe in the area that the home was located in. The home was exactly as shown in the pictures. Plenty of space for everyone!! The only thing that we would recommend (at least the women in our group) would be to have bigger mirrors in the bathrooms and also a full length mirror in each unit. It was difficult to get ready using the small mirrors that were in the bathrooms. Other than that, absolutely no complaints!! Thank you for the wonderful place to stay!!
