What makes this Apartment unique
Built in 1940, this unique property was once part of the Liberty Ship boat building industry that helped shape Sausalito into what it is today.
Nice. Quiet. Clean.
Except for the teeny tiny bathroom the rooms were big and spacious.
Would stay again. Felt comfortable and very homey.
Great apartment that's minutes to San Francisco by car or ferry. Very quiet area but close to many attractions. You will need to take a car or bus as the unit is not in the middle of Sausalito but towards the northern edge. We loved the place and would stay again.
Nice Property with good location
I enjoyed my time at this property. It is a nice location, easy to find and walking distance to the grocery store. It is comfortable and had most things we needed. My suggestion would be to offer additional bedding for the pull out couch in the living room, as we were only able to find sheets, no top blanket, and a few more basic things such as extra paper towels, toilet paper, etc. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Thank you very much.
Nice apartment that is a good value
We stayed a week at this apartment in early August. Due to flight delays, we did not arrive until late evening. It was a bit hard to find. It is in an older building, clad in wood siding. The front porch light was not on, so it took awhile to find the right number. Some pros and cons:
Pros - Living room and bedroom were very roomy.
Bed was very comfortable, and even the pullout sofa bed was comfy with the air
mattress, which was easy to inflate and deflate.
Kitchen was well equipped and pretty modern.
It was great to have a washer/dryer in the apartment. These were newer appliances
that worked very well. Laundry soap and dryer sheets were included!
All cleaning supplies were readily available.
Large LED TV in living room worked well, once we figured out the Fios system.
Owner of the apartment, and the property manager were readily available and pleasant
to work with.
Convenient location near the highway, and stores like Mollie Stone's.
Cons - Front screen door was wooden and warped. You could not close and latch it very
easily. I mentioned this to the property manager, but nothing was done. A simple
handle on the inside of the door would have helped.
No TV in bedroom! Just a smaller one in there would have been nice.
Smallest bathroom I have ever used! Could hardly turn around after a shower. Hard to
get on and off toilet. And bi-fold door would not completely close. This is an easy fix
and has been reported by previous guests.
No outdoor chairs to enjoy the back yard. Hardly comfortable sitting on picnic
benches. A couple of simple resin chairs would have been appreciated.
Raccoons in neighborhood were annoying and potentially scary at night. They
frequented the deck above this apartment, making one a bit nervous hanging out in the
back yard in the evening. Not sure what can be done about that.
Neighborhood was far from scenic. Very industrial with some run-down buildings next
Overall, this apartment was a good value. Roomy and well equipped. With just some minor upgrades, it could be even better.
Could not have been happier with this place. It is in a very quite area right next to the Sausalito house boats. Ten minutes from SF, 30 min from the airport. Very well kept place, gorgeous kitchen, and great neighborhood. So glad we did this over a hotel.
Comfortable and convenient
Comfortable little apartment. nice bedroom. Bathroom is small, just as the owner describes so no surprise - but the bathroom door is impossible to close from the inside due to a lack of a handle. No bathroom privacy. eeew. Other than the bathroom door, everything was fine. We showed up about 11pm and it was dark. Very difficult to know which apartment entrance was the right one. Thank goodness for the picture of the front door on the VRBO website. Overall, decent place to stay while touring the city. Priced right I think. We enjoyed it. Owner was very responsive and easy to work with.
Located on Sausalito's waterfront in an historic building, this apartment is perfectly situated for exploring the "salty" side of Marin County. The famous Houseboat docks, fishing docks and yacht harbors are just steps away.
