Cottage On Lake Martin Only 15 Steps From The Water Across A Flat Lot! 3 Bedroom
Enjoy lakefront vacationing in this charming lake cottage in the Sandy Creek area 35 minutes from Auburn. A few steps across the flat yard and you’re in the water or on the dock. Enjoy 100 feet of waterfront, a floating wet slip for your boat and a covered dock with cushioned chairs. Take in the big water view while swimming without boat traffic thanks to a tiny island keeping most boat traffic away. Woods on both sides of the property make it feel like you have your own piece of paradise! Best of all with its southern exposure you'll get plenty of sun.
The huge lake style screened porch with wet bar screams vacation! Enjoy your large patio area with lounge chairs for sunning and a separate grilling patio. Watch the birds and chipmunks eat the bird seed and when you’re done for the day you can use your private outdoor shower and then fire up the gas grill.
With the house only 20 feet from the water the covered dock is like an extension of the house and yard. The huge screened in porch guarantees a party even if the weather turns. There is ample outside area for gathering and visiting.
The cottage has an open floor concept with shared gas fireplace in living area and master bedroom. The master's French doors provide a lake front view and open to the patio. You also have an updated walk in shower. After a great week you can use the laundry room to get organized before heading back home.
If you're not in the cooking mood there are several great restaurants within 10 minutes of your perfect vacation spot. Everything from fried cheese balls and fish to great southern cooking!
Great for families, fishing and hunting excursions or a peaceful retreat. High speed internet access and cable TV. Flat screen TV's are great for watching your favorite sports and movies.
Auburn is 35 minutes while Dadeville is seven minutes and Alexander City 23 minutes. There is plenty of parking right at the backdoor of the cottage so moving in and out is a breeze.
Main parking is 35' wide x 43' long with another ~100 feet of driveway out to the road.
SWIMMING and FISHING:
Great swimming and fishing right off of our great covered dock and our floating dock. The water is roughly four feet deep directly off of the sea wall and roughly 10 feet deep off the end of the docks.
NOTE: Alabama Power drops Lake Martin's water level from full pool starting in October and begins increasing the water level in late February to mid-March. The change is seven to 10 feet so the water will be out past the dock during most of this time frame. Lake Martin is at full pool roughly from mid-March through early October. When the water is down seven feet puts the water just past the end of our dock. You can still walk out to the island to fish and watch the ducks and boats form the dock or house.

Michael or Rebecca Gruber purchased this Cottage in 2015
Why Michael or Rebecca Gruber chose Jacksons' Gap
The previous owners said even though some of their friends have larger houses the party always ended up at their cottage due to the ease of lake access and the other great amenities. Rebecca and I have always wanted a lake house so in the fall of 2015 we set out to find a house we'd love to live in. We wanted a house right on the lake, on a flat lot and relatively new. Our Island Cove house fits this bill and more. You have lake front views from the master bedroom and all of the common living space. The house was built in 2000 and is an open concept. The people in the kitchen can see and talk to everyone in the dining room and living room. As a bonus they can open the window at talk to everyone in the screened porch. Simply put it's a house designed for a good time!

Great house, beautiful piece of property on the lake, very clean and cozy.
Really enjoyed the view of the lake, the house was very clean with a very comfortable feel all around. Definitely will be back and the owner made sure our stay worked out great.
Great customer service!
Great customer service, Great view! We would love to visit again!
Very relaxing place on the lake.
Overall this was a good rental. It could be a bit cleaner. The outdoor and dock area are very nice and a great place to relax and enjoy the scenery. SEC fans would appreciate a larger TV to watch football games. Be sure to bring your own towels and wash cloths. The decor is very nice and up to date. Plenty of seating for eating with a large group. We definitely enjoyed our stay!
I am so sorry you thought the house wasn't clean enough. What areas or items were not clean so we can make sure a better job is done next time?
There are towels in the bathrooms and closets. Did you run out?
Thank you for your feedback.
Awesome location, charming home with great amenities. Hard to think of anything missing. Courteous and informative owners. All in all hard to beat.. A perfect place to make happy memories.
Amazing lake cottage with homey feeling.
We loved it the moment we walked in the door and then it kept getting better. Everything was as described but better when you see it for yourself. This is a perfect family home for relaxing on Lake Martin. The cottage is clean and tastefully decorated with a nautical theme. The location is great and only minutes from Dadeville if you need more beverages or groceries. And close to Alex City for “big box” shopping. The Gruber's went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. We felt like friends borrowing their home. Thanks for sharing this amazing home with our family.
Thank you ... we try hard to keep it homey! My son and friends arrived Friday afternoon for the music festival I mentioned to you. Jason said the place was VERY clean - THANK YOU!
He also said you left a few things for my wife and I. I know Rebecca will get a big kick out of whatever you've left. She is supervising the new carpet being put in on Monday so I will keep the surprise to myself.
Than you again for your kind words. Hope to see you again!
P.S. 10-26-2017 ... Rebecca LOVES the coasters! She has them on the main table in the porch so no one can miss them. Thank you for leaving such a nice surprise.
The Perfect Cottage for the Perfect Weekend
Island Cove was absolutely perfect! No need to walk down 100 stairs to get to the water - - it is just beyond the level yard. A covered boat dock with chairs to sit and watch the sunset over the lake, or simply lay in the hammock and watch the little ones throw their fishing lines into the water. A paddleboat was provided to venture out into the lake while at the same time getting that needed exercise after eating more than you should have. This home had all the amenities needed for a relaxing weekend -- a sofa that would accommodate everyone, a screened in porch where you could eat dinner, play cards, or take a nap. It was the perfect cottage for the perfect weekend. And you couldn't ask for better communication from the owners, who have made their home a place to come back to time and time again.
What a great review! Rebecca and I are a bit embarrassed after we asked you to help us secure the outside furniture from hurricane Irma. You went well beyond the call of duty. To write such a great review of our lake cottage after we put you to work gives us a warm feeling about the great people in this country. Thank you again for the help. Rebecca and I would have given you a 10 if the system would have allowed it!
