Love the woods and the water? This 3-bedroom chalet has both, along with a great location six miles north of the quaint village of Northport, and two miles from Leelanau State Park and the Grand Traverse Lighthouse.
Set back in the trees and right on the water, the home offers panoramic views of Lake Michigan both inside and out. Whether you’re sipping coffee at the kitchen table, or you’re enjoying a glass of local wine out on the deck, you’ll have front-row seats to the ever-changing, always amazing lake. You won’t find this many shades of blue in any crayon box!
Inside the house, cathedral ceilings and lots of natural light give the main living area an open and inviting feel. But it’s still plenty cozy, too. There are two bedrooms and a full bath on the main floor, and a master bedroom and bath in the spacious loft. You’ll especially appreciate having a laundry room with a full-size washer and dryer, a well-equipped kitchen, and central air conditioning.
The lower-level walkout has a pool table and a ping-pong table, and there are plenty of books and board games, as well as a large flat-screen TV with Netflix, Hulu, and HBO-Go, a Blu-Ray DVD player, and a selection of DVDs.
Just a few yards from the house is a private beach. The water tends to be calmer in Grand Traverse Bay than on the other side of the peninsula, but water socks are recommended if you plan to swim or walk on the beach to look for Petoskey stones.
There’s plenty to do without leaving the neighborhood. Walk, run, or bike on the several miles of paved road that parallel the shoreline and wind through the trees. Four adult bikes with helmets are provided.
If you want to get out and about, there’s plenty to see and do. Visit the Grand Traverse Lighthouse, climb the dunes at Sleeping Bear National Seashore, bike the paved Leelanau Trail that runs from Suttons Bay to Traverse City, check out Northport, Sutton’s Bay, Leland, Glen Arbor, and downtown Traverse City, try the local foods and wines, enjoy the water, the beaches, and the views that truly are Pure Michigan.
