Why Mike Grishman chose Mid-City
Property is centrally located in Mid City, just 2 miles from downtown and the French Quarter. There is plenty to do in MidCity/Bayou St John/City Park area. Nearby there are many great food options to chose from. Some of my favorites in the immediate neighborhood are: Mandina's(creole, New Orleans) Liuzzas(creole/New Orleans), Venezia(Italian) Katie's(New Orleans) MoPho(Vietnamese/Pho) Parkway Bakery and Tavern (best poboys) Bars/Pubs nearby the house: Bulldog Midcity has something like 40 beers on tap Bayou Beer Garden has an excellent selection (probably 40 as well) and is a short 3-5 minute walk from the house. Beignets: Morning Call is 24 hour coffee and beignets in City Park, which hosts the New Orleans Museum of Art, City Putt (putt putt golf) and a frisbee golf course.

Spacious and close to the street car line
This a great house with lots of room for several people to stay together. It has all the amenities and is super comfortable. It's in a good location, very near the street car line for easy access to downtown, but far enough away it is quite easy to drive around to other areas outside of New Orleans. It is a generally quiet neighborhood and close to a Whole Foods. However, and this is our only complaint, two of the five nights we stayed the next door neighbors played really loud music and were having a grand time late into the evening, making it impossible to sleep.
Great midcity location
Nice home with plenty of room for me and my family. Close to bayou St. John, restaurants and grocery stores.
Excellent Renovation, However!
When we drove up we were semi concerned with all the activity next door, however it turned out to be just another renovation underway. There are several newly renovated homes in the area and looks to be a location that is up and coming but hasn't became trendy yet... So don't be alarmed, we didn't have any security problems. Overall the neighbors were friendly and spoke. Initially we didn't have any parking issues, however if you leave and come back in the evening you may have to search a bit, but nothing to far away.
As far as the house, it was really just basics. A few cups left over from other guests but other than that nothing. Normally when you stay at a long term hotel/home (we stayed 4 nights) there are certain things you expect, however, this was not that! Yes, there were utensils, plates, cups and so forth but that was it.... No dishwashing liquid, no dishwasher soap, no paper towels, no seasonings not even salt and pepper... they did supply dish cloths, but with 5 people in the house that didn't stay helpful very long. However my largest complaint was that the showers didn't seem to be cleaned, which would have been a quick fix but there weren't any cleaning products... anywhere... at all, which I found strange..... I would suggest that you have a serious talk with whoever you have cleaning the house and let them know to keep these items stocked, and if it doesn't spoil i.e. seasonings, butter... Leave it in the house for the next person.... Makes life a whole lot easier.
I know this may not sound like a rave review but we had a GREAT time and the stuff that was missing from the house didn't make or break our vacation. I'd seen other reviews that were similar and I really hope that the owners take this into consideration.
I wish you had let us know about your concerns and we could have addressed them ASAP. We do stock some basic items and re-up on a regular basis, but if the guest before used/takes the salt and the pepper, the current guest may be without. We will try and do better here.
As for the items you said were not present, such as lack of cleaning products in the house, a quick email or phone call could have resolved these small, yet important, issues as we have these items in the house.
I am glad you had a great trip to New Orleans and hope you come back and visit soon.
David and Michael
My family loves renting this house when we need to be in Mid City. The beds are extremely comfortable and the house had all the basics like towels, kitchen supplies, paper towels, etc. The parking was very easy and the house is convienent to a lot of restaurants within walking distance! Also only 1 block to the Canal street car line! We love staying here and always look forward to coming back.
Great house and location
Spent a great 5 nights in NOLA. The house was beautifully remodeled, very comfortable, and was in a great location. It was an easy streetcar ride or Uber ride downtown. The bathrooms could have been a bit more clean, but otherwise the house was awesome and we'd definitely stay there again. Thanks for a great trip.
Great location and a great home. Convenient walk to street cars.
We had a great trip to New Orleans. Next time we go we will definitely stay at this property.

Nearby there are many great food options to chose from. Some of my favorites in the immediate neighborhood are:
Mandina's(creole, New Orleans)
Parkway Bakery and Tavern (best poboys)
Buds Broiler(24 hour quick burger joint)
Willie Mae's Scotch House(best fried chicken ever, get there when it opens)
Drago's at Hilton Riverside for charbroiled oysters
Jacques Imos is excellent New Orleans fare (reservation highly recommended)
I can also provide restaurant recommendations for any taste of price point, just ask.
Riverwalk/Aquarium/IMAX of Americas is cool to check out on a nice day. You can take the streetcar downtown from orleans and Carrollton for $1.50 www.norta.com
There are a ton of bars on Bourbon St, but a 2 of my favorite in the warehouse district are Barcadia, a pretty cool bar on Tchoupitoulas in the warehouse district, fun for all ages, old video games, pinball etc. and Lucy's Retired Surfer Bar a few blocks down from Barcadia.
