About Ron and Anne Anthony
Our family lives in the Baltimore area and for many years made the drive down to the beautiful Outer Banks and Nags Head for summer vacations. We have family ties to Ocean City, MD but preferred the quiet nature of Nags Head. Friends told us about their place just a drive from Lewes DE and what a gem it turned out to be. We started vacationing at their place, only about 2 1/2 hours from Baltimore. Peaceful and quiet and much closer; we were hooked. That was about 15 years ago. Five years ago we bought our first house at Primehook Beach and enjoyed upgrading it. Three floors, four bedrooms, 2.5 baths and on vrbo. Last winter we bought this house, a charming one floor built on a masonry foundation with lots of room and right on the access road to the beach. Anne works as a medical technician and Ron works in the investment field. Our two sons both attended and graduated from Towson University.
Ron and Anne Anthony purchased this House in 2015
Why Ron and Anne Anthony chose Prime Hook Beach
We both enjoy the quiet nature of Primehook Beach and especially that we can find groceries/hardware store/subway/etc in nearby Milton. There are plenty of restaurants and shopping in nearby Lewes and we can visit my brother and his family in Ocean City, MD. This house appealed to us because it is very solidly built, on one level, has an extra building lot and we enjoying the renovation challenge. Also we can see the Delaware Bay from our house! Since we bought it in November of last year we have had central air and heat added, a new roof installed, new flooring, have replaced the kitchen cabinets and added an island, had two walls opened up to create an open concept feeling and have replaced all the windows and doors. The house has all new stainless appliances and beachy colors throughout.
What makes this House unique
Seeing the Delaware Bay out the kitchen, family room and porch windows is a real treat. The over 1200 square feet give us lots of room and having a home on one level is very pleasing. Primehook Beach has a brand new bridge on the access road. If you enjoy surf fishing the bay offers lots of fun experiences. If you plan to surf fish don't forget to get a temporary fishing license when you go to the bait and tackle place nearby on coastal highway.

Best place ever!!!!
This home is wonderful! I stayed the entire Holiday Season with my 3 little dogs. When I started to make travel plans, I was concerned about finding a nice place that would allow me to stay with my pack. Finding this house was more than I'd ever hoped for... it's a lovely cozy beach home. And right off the bat you can see that it is well loved and taken care of by its owners. The beach is about a block away. It's a great neighborhood to walk your dogs. And there's a fenced in backyard for your pups to run and play.
The house is so well stocked; it's like a home away from home.
Another amazing feature about this property is the wildlife. Being situated in a National Wildlife Preserve makes your stay awe inspiring! Take binoculars if you have them! I saw all kinds of amazing birds, deer, foxes etc. The geese are incredible!
The drive out there feels like you are driving to the middle of nowhere.... you kinda are. That makes it a very special place in my book. The community is very small and I since I was there in December, I didn't encounter many people. The folks I did see were so welcoming and nice.
So, if feeling a little isolated
Is something you desire, this is the place. On the other hand, drive about 4 miles west and you're right back in civilization! There's lots to do and fabulous places to eat (and drink 😁) As for me and my pack, we'd love very much to come back! Thank you Anne and Ron for a one of a kind get away!!!
This is an absolute gem! I cannot say enough good things. The home was clean, well stocked, cozy and inviting. You couldn't ask for anything more. The owners were friendly, and very prompt with their responses to questions. Very easy to deal with and very gracious. The house is just steps from the beach. This turned out to be a wonderful vacation and I have fallen in love with the area. It's close enough to the hustle of life yet far enough to really enjoy the peace and quiet. I will be returning!!
Beautiful spot for an anniversary trip
My wife and I came here for our 39th wedding anniversary. Prime Hook Beach is a quiet community surrounded by natural beauty. The house was in excellent shape and was more thoughtfully equipped than many vacation homes. You have to drive some to get to a restaurant or a store of any kind, but if you're looking for a beautiful and peaceful spot, this house does very nicely.
Prime Hook Beach - The Best Kept Secret on the Delaware Shore!
We loved our stay at Prime Hook Beach! The Anthony's property on Pine Street is beautiful! We entered a clean, well organized, nicely furnished, comfortable property and enjoyed every bit of our stay. The kitchen is well equipped so we could do a little cooking (very little:)) and the two bedroom layout was perfect for 4 people our our dog, Molly. We loved that we were only a few steps from a beautiful beach (the Anthony's have provided all of the necessary beach chairs, umbrellas, etc). We especially loved the secluded nature of the area which included a sighting of a bald eagle in the Prime Hood Preserve only steps from the house. We had easy access to Lewes (for restaurants and morning yoga classes on the beach - Dimitries Yoga) and to the Rehobeth Beach outlets. Loved our stay and hope to return next year!!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The property is exceptionally clean and well-maintained and the back yard is fully fenced all the way to the ground so even smaller dogs cannot get underneath. The neighborhood is extremely quiet and the beds are comfortable so expect to sleep well while staying here. Also expect to see lots of birds, insects, and many different mammals, especially on your drive in through the neighboring wildlife refuge. A perfect getaway for nature lovers!
Great hideaway so close to everything great but quiet enough to enjoy the sounds of the waves
We had a great time at this wonderful property. Everything we could need an amazing access to the water. Loved the area and the offerings would highly recommend this home.
The fabulous Cape Henlopen State Park is located near Rehobeth Beach and right on the Atlantic ocean.
