This house was built in 1899. There is a picture of it in the upstairs bedroom (202) that was taken at the turn of the 20th century and featured in a newspaper article. It was renovated by my husband and I in 1999 when we purchase it. We recently renovated the bathrooms in 2015. The living room and dining room and upstairs bedrooms are small (8/9'). There are 2 (full) beds upstairs and a full bath with 2 sinks and a claw foot tub. The 3rd floor loft has 2 queen futons (low head clearance and narrow loft stairs with no railing). There are gas heaters in each bedroom and a gas log fire place in the living room. The first floor has a full galley kitchen, microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher and refrigerator. There is a full bath on the first floor with a shower and a stack washer dryer. There is a small backyard with a deck and a brick patio. Cars can park on the street out front. The home is with in walking distance to groceries, Black Water Falls State Park, brew pubs, restaurants, Monongahela National Forest, Black Water River, boating, biking, hiking, and cross country skiing.

About Owner/Property Manager
Luke and Catherine have been visiting the area since the early 70s. We enjoy skiing, mountain biking, trail running and birding. We are proud to support local artisans, artists, farmers and businesses. Davis, Thomas and Tucker County are full of interesting, talented, unique, and charming people, places and resources.
Owner/Property Manager purchased this House in 1998
Why Owner/Property Manager chose Davis
It is convenient to shopping and recreation. It is part of a charming community. The front porch is great for morning sun. The back yard is lush and hidden with a fire pit. The house is cozy and eclectically decorated.
What makes this House unique
The home was built in 1899. It represents immigrants who came from eastern Europe to work in a very harsh climate in the timber industry. When we renovated we found burlap bags and paper nailed to the lath and walls for insulation. West Virginia has been pillaged and plundered by outside interests since it's state hood. Investing in the town helps promote the quality of life and responsible use of natural resources in a wild and wonderful state.

Great time and wonderful place to stay
Home was lovely and had everything we needed! Our second time there and will stay again
Charming Old House
The house met our needs perfectly - we were in the area to do some hiking. Within walking distance of the tiny downtown of Davis where you can find restaurants, coffe shop, ice cream and a brewery. Conveniently located to all the State Parks/National Forests. Luckily it wasnt warm during our August stay, the house doesnt appear to have a/c. We really enjoyed listening to their vinyl collection at the house and sitting on the little back patio area after hitting up the local brewery in the evening!
We had a wonderful time staying in Davis. The house is within walking distance to restaurants and shopping and is very close to Blackwater State Park. One of the best features of the home is the backyard patio and garden. It is a perfect place for drinking your morning cup of coffee, eating al fresco or enjoying a glass of wine.
Very quaint and comfortable!
Very cute clean eclectic home! Home was well equiped with every need. Bedrooms were comfy and bathrooms were modern and clean. Great front sun porch and back patio. Close to restaurants, groceries and shops. Will definitley stay again.
Would definitely stay here again!
Great location and very comfortable. Conveniently located only a block or two from the restaurants/breweries in Downtown Davis.
The charming, historical house was absolutely delightful. We couldn't have been happier with our stay, and would love to return there in the future.
Map icon is off by one block. House is across from the funeral home in middle of block
