About Gloria Edwards
Don and Gloria purchased this lot and had the Jim Barna log home built. They wintered there for ten years and decided to let other people share some of the enjoyment they have felt. The peacefulness of nature will astound you.
Gloria Edwards purchased this Cabin in 1998
Why Gloria Edwards chose Oneida
Gloria loves horseback riding and we were heading to Florida and asked along the way where the best place to ride was. Everyone kept saying that The Big South Fork National Recreation Area was the place to be. Boy, were they right.
What makes this Cabin unique
The Big South Fork National Rec. Area allows you to horseback ride, hike and bicycle. It also has the river to fish, kayak, boat or canoe. some of the trails have scenic views, caves, A short distance from Oneida is Huntsville that features RTV trails. Note: You may not ride them in the resort! Dollywood is around 73 miles away and Gatlinburg about 78. Pine Knot has a historic railway and old mining town.

My wife recently brought our horses and stayed here. It extremely exceeded our expectations. The property is tucked away with nothing around. The barn facility was top notch with all you could ask for. The cabin was clean and had Everything you would need. Our favorite part was sitting on the back deck overlooking the private lake. This property is close to the horse trails which was nice because we didn’t have to trailer to a trail head each day. I would recommend this cabin to anyone. We will decently be coming back next year. Thank you for a wonderful weekend.
Need to have more time next time.
We absolutely loved the setting and location of the property and the quality of the construction of the cabin was first class! While we enjoyed the seclusion of the property and the paddle boat; we were disappointed in the furnishings. The living room furnishings were dilapidated and the recliners were non-functioning. The mattresses were not comfortable and we all awoke with a back ache. There was also some sort of critter chewing on the post on the back porch in the middle of the night making it more difficult to sleep. I also felt like the pre-cleaning and the VRBO fee should have been included in the rental fee. There are several other cabins in the same resort that rent for less and those extra charges were not divulged prior to the commitment to rent. What is a "pre-cleaning fee anyway? The cabin had been rented the day before we got there. Overall our family enjoyed our stay and would revisit if there were a comfortable place to sit and sleep.
Great getaway. Quiet, serene and beautiful setting.
We had a wonderful stay at this cabin. Great atmosphere, incredible night sky, great amenities. Would love to bring our grandkids here. Close to hiking trails thruout the Big South Fork. Wonderful time.
I'm so glad you enjoyed our cabin as much as we do. Please come again.
Got it all!
Loved it! Beautiful, well accommodated, hot tub was great, ping pong was fun and loved the area. Unless you have Verizon, you won't have internet access but hey, you're in the country, right?!
Cabin was gorgeous! Owner was great at communication! Pictures didn't do justice! Cabin was clean, and nicely stocked! Wonderful for relaxation! Thank you so much for sharing your amazing property!
