About Amy Foster
We have come to Snowshoe and stayed at Mountain Lodge for the past four years and finally decided to make it our own. We wanted the quieter wing of the building and a view of the slopes and lake. We have enjoyed updating the decor, fixtures and some appliances to make it feel like home away from home. We hope you enjoy it too.
Amy Foster purchased this Lodge in 2015
Why Amy Foster chose Snowshoe
We live north of Charlotte, NC and like to ski often during the winter. School schedules and travel expense keep us local and we love the challenge of Snowshoe ski hills. We also like to take advantage of the cooler summer temperatures and all of the summer activities aat the mountain.
What makes this Lodge unique
We love Mountain Lodge because it is so close to everything Snowshoe has to offer. We can ski in/out, run to Wildcat Provisions for that extra loaf of bread, head to Starbucks to get coffee, visit the Big Top for fun with the kids. It's location, location, location for us.

The room was spotless and everything in order. Great view. First time at Snowshoe and will definitely go again. Was there to participate in the GNCC race and won my class.
Pristine condo with a nice view
It was well-stocked with everything we needed to relax on our honeymoon. I loved the view of the lake, and mountains beyond. Since the Ballhooter lift is right outside, it was effortless to get on the slopes and return. We had the small porch to breathe the fresh air.
Nice and cozy condo and so convenient as Ballhooter lifting is just nearby
This is a very cozy and nice condo. The counter top is huge and is our center for both dinner and fun activity. The view of outside is amazing and you can see ballhooter and down the lake. The most convenient is that the Ballhooter lifting is just outside of the condo and we would like to come back to stay again.
Ski in Ski Out in Snowshoe Village
You walk out of the complex onto ththe slopes. Really close. Amazing location. Very reasonably priced for being in snowshoe village. The condo is comfortable and really all you need if you plan on spending the day skiing and then night out.
Thanks so much!!
Just what you need for a little ski getaway!
This was our first trip to Snowshoe and we loved it! Mountain Lodge is a perfectly placed, slopeside ski resort. Yes, I would agree, ML it is slightly dated but the ambiance is cozy and there are some nice communal areas to just sit and relax. Amy's unit was nicely updated just as stated. I especially appreciated the kitchen island bar/table as there was plenty of room to store and prepare food and plates. Some friends were in another unit which did not have this and it was hard for her to prepare lunches, have space, etc...
We happened to be there at a VERY, VERY cold time with one of our ski days only having a high of -2 with a windchill of -23!! Us Florida natives were freezing but it was so nice to just easily ski back in to have a hot lunch and cocoa! Other than that we were out from open to closing of lifts! The powder was great!
The only negative thing I have is more of an actual ML building issue as the sliding door and window were frozen shut and we couldn't access going out on the balcony. I'm sure they are original and with the weather being so bitterly cold, it's bound to happen. I'm from Florida so maybe this is normal. I'm sure in the future when ML remodels, they will replace all windows and sliders.
Amy is fabulous to work with and she is extremely prompt at getting in touch with you and answering all questions!! So many VRBO owners/managers are aloof at this but not her. Thanks Amy for a wonderful stay for our Florida family!!
Awww - thank you so much. I want everyone to have as much fun at Snowshoe as we do.
Accommodations not bad, service was sloppy
First impressions are everything. The guard at the Mountain Lodge gate told us we couldn't get into the room, or the parking lot for that matter, until 5pm sharp. He indicated our room was not ready and would not permit us entry until then. We drove up and down the main road a bit looking for parking so we could grab a beer and/or so we could bide our time until check-in but no such luck. Many of the lodges are locked up and require a key for entry. Silver Creek requires a parking fee, not a cheap one I might add. There was really no where to go since we couldnt park. It would appear that once you park your car you reallyl do not want to drive anywhere while on the mountain. Once we finally got to our room at 5 on the dot, our linens were not even on the bed. Things did get better moving forward despite the rocky start. The view from this room was very nice and made up for much of the initial mishaps.
Snowshoe lodging is located at the top of the mountain so you can enjoy the views - 360. Enjoy skiing/snowboarding, a dinner out and cozy up by the lodge fireplace.
