This is our latest cabin with an extraordinary view. Beautiful Lake Douglas sits gleaming at the foot of this gated property while English Mountain stands majestically behind for your enjoyment. 4 Wheel Drive is suggested for the winter months. The boat dock for the lake is less than a mile away. This two bedroom, 2½ bath, plus loft cabin has spacious decks, a wood burning fireplace and lots of detail to appreciate. The loft with futon doubles as a sleeping area. The property is teeming with wildlife such as turkey and deer. There is one big sun porch for daily entertaining and a second porch that is always shady for that afternoon book read. This is an exclusive property built with care and has to be seen to be admired. You will love the views. This cabin is about an hour from Gatlinburg.

Absolutely beautiful cabin with breathtaking view!
Beautiful cabin, wish we could have taken it home with us! Very peaceful and private spot with amazing view of the lake and mountains. Cabin was well furnished. Newport didn’t have much to offer but it didn’t take us long to drive to Pigeon Forge (about 30 to 40 minutes). The cabin itself is worth the drive. Didn’t have any trouble with the gravel driveway or gate that others mentioned having some difficulties with. The owner Sandy was very helpful in finding the location ( GPS will take you to a wrong location). We will definitely plan to come back again!

Wonderfully Maintained Cabin w Lake & Smoky Mtns View
I couldn't have asked for a nicer property inside, all knotty pine with views, a master bath with king bed and walk-in shower and washer/dryer so you don't have to drag dirty clothes home. Very well priced. Smokey Mountains and Gatlinburg/Dollywood are 1 hour. We loved all the trails in the mountains and it was Cooler there!
We stayed 2 weeks and the Entrance Code to the development changed mid-stay, somewhat alarming when you can't get in at 4pm, but Sandy fairly quickly got us the new code.
There was a minor problems with lots of gnats inside. I found bleach in the laundry and treated all of the sinks with a couple tablespoons and this did help a lot.
This is not the owner's fault but the town of Newport had terrible restaurants, have to drive to Gatlinburg for decent food. But we were planning to eat at the cabin most days. Did not use the grill since it was charcoal and we are spoiled with our own gas grill.
We enjoyed Forbidden Caverns, the Bush Bean 'tour', whiskey tasting in Gatlinburg (most of the other distilleries had Moonshine only) and rented a pontoon boat on Lake Douglas at H2O Sports.
Sandy is a very good manager.

Beautiful cabin, clean, very peaceful. Loved all the personal touches.
Never rented a cabin through VRBO so was a bit hesitant. Sandy from the rental company was great to work with, she answered all my questions in a very timely manner. The cabin was a great size & would easily accommodate a family or 2 couples. It was just my husband & I & we had plenty of room. The shower was amazing, the swings on the porch were great to have a glass of wine & unwind. The cabin had everything to prepare meals..Loved the extra touches they put into the cabin, the shelf above the fireplace, the light above the kitchen sink. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is because there were a few nails on the deck & railing that should be addressed for safety reasons. I would suggest something a little better to grill on. But it was ok for just the 2 of us. I would highly recommend this cabin & we might go back for a fall trip..
Beautiful cabin with amazing views
We absolutely loved this cabin! The place is beautifully decorated and the views from the porch are just breathtaking. It was very clean and everything you need was provided.
Secluded, Luxury cabin with a View
Don't worry if you forgot to pack something for your stay because they have you covered! This is the way a vacation home should be maintained and stocked. From the full kitchen, to laundry detergent, to charcoal starting fluid, and even a first aide kit, this owner thought of everything. We had not-so-nice weather while we were here, but that didn't really matter as we were still able to enjoy the beauty of the views while sitting on 1 of the 2 covered decks during the rain or just looking out the large windows from the living/dining area. The drive up and down from the main entrance to the cabin was a little harrowing the first time, but got used to it before the week was over. Four wheel drive or all wheel drive is beneficial. We did have a tree fall across the drive during a storm one night, but the neighbor cleared it the next day with his chainsaw (Thanks Reggie!)
The lack of wi-fi added to the quietness of the place and kept us off our phones and tablets for most of the week, so I guess you can list that as a pro or a con depending on what you're going for. One day when I was a little bored, I did take my hammer and pound down about 200 nails on the deck that were sticking up so we didn't have to keep dodging them the whole time, but the front deck could use a little TLC in the next year. There was a good variety of chairs to sit on outside -- from rocking chairs, to swings, to metal chairs/table w/umbrella, to Adirondack chairs, to a bench, as well as a picnic table in the yard. All were fairly comfortable too. The views at night or early in the morning were amazing. We could see the clouds in the mountains as well as a good view of the lake. We did see the "wildlife" on the property also - Turkeys, deer, and a couple squirrels on the deck one morning.
If I would have one suggestion it would be to have some more detail for check out (what gets washed, do we vacuum/sweep, leave AC on/off, etc). Also maybe a map in your book of where the trash is accepted. The directions said on Industrial Dr., but it is actually on Clayhill Rd. and the one in town is only recycle and not trash
Overall this is a beautiful place to use a home base if you are doing any hiking or any of the tourist things around the region or it's just a nice relaxing place to hang out for a few days and get away from things. We will probably be back again, in the fall this time, to see how things look in a different season. Ron and Trudy
Wonderful Cabin and View
Overall just a fantastic place. The cabin is gorgeous with a great deck covered and uncovered containing many seating options. Not so much for Newport itself, but Dandridge is cool for boating etc. You can rent a pontoon boat from a couple places nearby. We did Indian Creek and H20, but call ahead to reserve. You have to be careful on the back deck because many of the nails are popping up due to the sun exposure, but it's not a huge issue. Also make sure to have a plan for dumping your garbage, since they don't provide a lockbox garbage can outside. If you don't dump it, you'll need to pay $50 for them to take it for you. The kitchen is fairly stocked with utensils. Bathroom shower is a pleasure. The living room could use a coffee table, and there's also no WiFi. We did have tremendous 4G signal though and were able to use our cell phone hotspots without issue. We use Sprint and TMobile. I enjoyed the outside grilling area. It's peaceful over there on the side of the cabin and you can just kick back looking at the woods. It's a very secluded feeling with a rough country road to get there. I recommend it, and especially for couples.
