This is our latest cabin with an extraordinary view. Beautiful Lake Douglas sits gleaming at the foot of this gated property while English Mountain stands majestically behind for your enjoyment. 4 Wheel Drive is suggested for the winter months. The boat dock for the lake is less than a mile away. This two bedroom, 2½ bath, plus loft cabin has spacious decks, a wood burning fireplace and lots of detail to appreciate. The loft with futon doubles as a sleeping area. The property is teeming with wildlife such as turkey and deer. There is one big sun porch for daily entertaining and a second porch that is always shady for that afternoon book read. This is an exclusive property built with care and has to be seen to be admired. You will love the views. This cabin is about an hour from Gatlinburg.

Wonderful cabin, great view.
This cabin was wonderful. It was clean, spacious, and had a wonderful shower in the master bedroom. Great porch and absolutely a beautiful view. The hostess was very nice and so accommodating. Wish we could have stayed for a whole week. Will most definitely go back again:)

Thanks for taking such good care of our cabin. Please come back and see us again. You are always welcome at the Lake Vista Cabin.
The cabin is beautiful but starting to need small repairs outside One lane road up to the cabin and on our first night getting there we met a Fed Ex truck and had to back down the road to the bottom. Neighbor Reggie made comment about a house being built up by him so that means more traffic on the road.
We saw lots of birds, turkeys, three eagles and many deer. One little buck likes to visit every morning and eat grass in yard.
I washed all bath mats and cleaned one day while my husband went to visit a friend in New Port one day. I feel the cleaning service did not do a good job as there was dried mud on couch and bath mats. Also removed stains in bedroom on the carpet. We did not use the upstairs as it was just the two of us. The cabin was cleaner when we left.
When we are on vacation I like to go out to eat and not cook. There are no close restaurants so we had to drive to the Gatlinburg area for good food and fight the traffic. Went to Dandridge one evening to eat as it was closer. We did not care for the food at the Captains Seafood Restaurant but the service was great!
The pillows are very flat on the bed. Lots of pillows in the closet so we doubled the pillows up in the pillow case and it was better. There are plenty of towels for the bathroom. Love the laundry room. The kitchen and main room are fantastic with everything a person would need. The décor is my taste so I enjoyed this.
Spent time outside walking up and down hill as the weather was great. Picked up the yard a bit from small limbs from all the trees. Placed rocks all around the fire grill from the rocks I found in the woods. I would have loved to rake the yard if I had a rake because I wanted to be outside.
Black vultures were circling one day and all of a sudden we heard a large noise coming from the front deck. I walked around and was startled by one of the black vultures that had landed on the chimney. I told him to go away as I was not dead yet. LOL
If I lived here it would be different as we would not go out to eat everyday. We liked the peace and quiet and the wildlife.
Great cabin great view.
If you want a bright wood 1500sq ft, 2 bedroom 2 bath, wood fireplace cabin with a Lake Douglas view and a mountain view this is your cabin. Big, open, and clean. The only thing it needs is wi-fi and a hot tub. It is off the main Hwy through a gated community. Down a gravel road up and down a few hills. I will definitely be going there again.
My family had a great time. Didn't want to leave.
Absolutely beautiful cabin with breathtaking view!
Beautiful cabin, wish we could have taken it home with us! Very peaceful and private spot with amazing view of the lake and mountains. Cabin was well furnished. Newport didn’t have much to offer but it didn’t take us long to drive to Pigeon Forge (about 30 to 40 minutes). The cabin itself is worth the drive. Didn’t have any trouble with the gravel driveway or gate that others mentioned having some difficulties with. The owner Sandy was very helpful in finding the location ( GPS will take you to a wrong location). We will definitely plan to come back again!

Wonderfully Maintained Cabin w Lake & Smoky Mtns View
I couldn't have asked for a nicer property inside, all knotty pine with views, a master bath with king bed and walk-in shower and washer/dryer so you don't have to drag dirty clothes home. Very well priced. Smokey Mountains and Gatlinburg/Dollywood are 1 hour. We loved all the trails in the mountains and it was Cooler there!
We stayed 2 weeks and the Entrance Code to the development changed mid-stay, somewhat alarming when you can't get in at 4pm, but Sandy fairly quickly got us the new code.
There was a minor problems with lots of gnats inside. I found bleach in the laundry and treated all of the sinks with a couple tablespoons and this did help a lot.
This is not the owner's fault but the town of Newport had terrible restaurants, have to drive to Gatlinburg for decent food. But we were planning to eat at the cabin most days. Did not use the grill since it was charcoal and we are spoiled with our own gas grill.
We enjoyed Forbidden Caverns, the Bush Bean 'tour', whiskey tasting in Gatlinburg (most of the other distilleries had Moonshine only) and rented a pontoon boat on Lake Douglas at H2O Sports.
Sandy is a very good manager.
