A Classic Alaska Dry Cabin On The Shores Of Kenai Lake

About Jan-Ake Schultz
We moved to Alaska in 2000 and were wonderfully fortunate to acquire this property. After building the cabin and raising Our family here, now is the time to share it with like-minded travelers who will appreciate its unique and magical features
Jan-Ake Schultz purchased this Cabin in 2000
Why Jan-Ake Schultz chose Seward
This is no hotel room. If you sit on the deck and read about Alaska Nellie and the sourdoughs who pioneered this great land you will feel and be a part of the story. The Iditarod National Historic Trail runs along the frozen lakefront in winter......
What makes this Cabin unique
History- You will pass the 100 Year old historic cabin on the way in, you will travel the gravel footpaths, you will watch the morning fog burn off the lake, you will witness and hear the flight of sandhill cranes overhead in season

This property was amazingly beautiful, and was very different from everything we have expected. The only thing you should know is that the property is a little far from the parking and at nights its a little challenging.
Amazing place by the water! We have been 3 times this year and love it!
Love the tranquility!
The quiet! The beauty of the lake! The calm. Thank you for a relaxing, restful weekend.
Paradise in Alaska
Yakutat was a slice of heaven. Everything was better than we could have expected. Gary was amazing. He was helpful, friendly and available. Everything we needed was provided. The shower was amazing. Now I want an outdoor shower. Thanks for sharing your amazing place.
I hope to be back again someday!! You have a beautiful cabin in an incredible location with plenty of amenities!! The kayaks were a great plus!! Thank you for everything!!
We visited after labor day and the property was quiet and very peaceful. Dave provided a very detailed check-in on all aspects of the property. Yakutat was bright and as pictured. A few areas could have been a bit cleaner on check-in (windowsills, outdoor grill, carpets... nothing major, didn't really bother us). Kitchen was well stocked, had everything we needed except measuring cups which we had brought. Knife sharpener or sharper knives if I were to nitpick. Excellent chimney on the wood stove with strong draft and plenty of dry wood made heating easy. Bed was comfortable. Bring your own ice for their coolers if you have perishables. Water at pump has strong iron taste, not sure if it dissipates with heavier use (ie no water sitting in pipe) but they provided a water pitcher/filter to remove that taste for drinking. Sauna was a highlight! We'd happily return again.
