Come to Camano Island to relax and enjoy this cute cottage. It is almost exactly a one-hour drive (non-rush hour) from the north Seattle city limits (north of Northgate), and there are no ferries and waiting lines to contend with! Yet you still get a great relaxed "get-away" island lifestyle.
The Cottage has the charm of the past, but it is fully equipped with all modern amenities and has more than enough room for 2 people to spread out in---or to cuddle up. Cottage location is west-facing on to Saratoga Passage with all its marine traffic such as the Victoria Clipper, and it is at the south edge of the popular Madrona Beach community.
Private stairs at the Cottage will take you down to the beach for water activities or a shoreline walk in either direction for as short or long a walk as you choose---dependent only upon the tides.
There are several state parks on the Island plus county parks as well. We highly recommend a visit to Cama Beach State Park---and the Center for Wooden Boats which is on the Park grounds---for a step back in time. There is a nice restaurant there---the Cama Beach Cafe, but its days and hours of operation are seasonal. Therefore, you will need to call them for their hours before heading out.
Camano Island has just enough amenities to provide everything you need, but it is still quaint and easy to navigate and explore. Large grocery, drug store, gas station, hardware store, restaurants, golf course and pro-shop are just ten-minutes away at Camano Plaza.
Much, much more is on the Island too, but the city of Stanwood, WA (pop. 6,739 in 2014) is 15+ minutes away with many more facilities and services such as a US Post Office, theaters, and even passenger rail service. For virtually all popular big-box retailers and franchises Smokey Point WA and Quil Ceda Village are only 30+ minutes away.
