About Stephanie and Duane Scoville
Duane and I moved to Colorado 13 years ago from Kansas. We fell in love with this 1860's homestead that was originally a stagecoach stop. We rent that out in the summer because there is no furnace to heat in winter. So we decided to rent our ranch house.
Stephanie and Duane Scoville purchased this Cabin in 2007
Why Stephanie and Duane Scoville chose Florissant
The history that Idlewild imparts sets it apart from other property we looked at. We find "treasures" all the time not to mention the awesome rockhounding behind us in the forest.
What makes this Cabin unique

Quiet, comfortable and great attention to detail.
One of the best places we've ever stayed. Built in 1920, this perfect sized cabin has all of the modern amenities you would ever want without sacrificing even a little bit of it's historic charm. The beds are so comfortable you will have a hard time wanting to leave. The kitchen is so nice and spacious, with the most beautiful hickory cabinets I've ever seen. We actually stayed an extra night because we didn't want to leave. Located in the perfect spot to be within minuets from gas, groceries and restaurants or, the solitude that only the mountains can provide. As with any great thing, the owner and or creator has to care. To me, that care is seen in the attention to detail. The decor is so spot on. The furniture is right, real and welcoming. It felt so much like home because everything I needed was there and thought through. When your hands reach for something and that something is there, that is no accident. Someone cared and made it that way. The owners care a great deal about making sure everything is right. When you consider what you really want from every angle, you won't find better hosts, a better place, or a better deal.
Awww..the best part of having a short term rental is meeting fantastic people like the Brooks. Any host would be blessed to have this family visit!
Peaceful and relaxing!
They property was wonderful! It did not disappoint, true to its historic beauty. The area was beautiful as well within easy distance to a lot of hiking! We absolutely loved the area and ambiance- the back porch was a wonderful gathering place for meals and meditation- the horses made it picturesque!
