About Property Manager/Owner
After moving to San Carlos in 2006 I built my own home, and a second house next to my property. My degree in interior design was invaluable during this process. I am a dual citizen of Canada and the US, with my Permanent Resident status in Mexico. Along with my passion for interior design I am an avid blog writer, self-published author, and founding member of San Carlos Pueblo Escenico, an urban plan that promotes the character and beauty of our community.
Property Manager/Owner purchased this House in 2007
Why Property Manager/Owner chose San Carlos
I designed and oversaw the construction of Casa de Vida Nueva, House of New Life in 2007. Prior to designing this home I lived in a Spanish Colonial home in Alamos. Sonora, Mexico. My goal was to create a similar ambiance with this home and I believe I have been successful.
What makes this House unique
I chose the Royal location to build my home because it is a quality and classy neighborhood that is quiet and secure and yet within one mile of restaurants and shopping. The home is a single story residence so it is very comfortable and the back patio overlooks the golf course. It's very tranquil and yet also very convenient to all local amenities.

Very beautiful home and nicely decorated. Comfortable and all necessary items provided. Also, Janey is a very helpful with local information and answering questions about the area.
Quiet and comfortable
We had everything we needed for a relaxing stay in San Carlos.
From the moment I walked through the door, I knew this was a place that would work for us. This house is everything it promises and more. It is exactly as shown in the photographs and as described. The house is in a safe, gated area with great streets. Janey was extremely accommodating, from suggesting restaurants, to where to shop, etc. She even has a housekeeper come in once a week to clean, and she will shop and cook if you want her to. The King bed in the master is awesome - it's so comfortable and has the softest sheets. We were there a month and really didn't want to leave. I love this place !
Thank you for your lovely review. It is my goal to help ensure that visitors to Casa de Vida Nueva and to San Carlos enjoy their visit and have a remarkable experience. I am very happy you were so comfortable that you did not want to leave, and I hope you are able to return. Cheers!
Beautiful home in a lovely location.
We enjoyed our stay. The design and decor are reminiscent of old Spanish haciendas, except that everything is new! Very spacious, doesn't feel like a 2-bedroom not at all cramped or tight. Excellent closet space and storage. Great kitchen and amazing patio area. Thank you Janey!
Large and beautiful Mediterranean style Home!
We really enjoyed our stay in this gated community in the middle of San Carlos. Janey's home has been lovingly designed and built by her. It has amazing comfortable furnishings and beautiful artwork and accessories. Janey was a great host and always attentive to our comfort and needs. The location was perfect: in the middle of town but peaceful and quiet. Thanks again, Janey!
Once again, Sam and I had a wonderful time in San Carlos. We got to meet our neighbors Ken and Sue and they were so kind to take us around and show us the beautiful sites that San Carlos has to offer. Thanks Janey for everything and all of your kindness as well as Fernando who was there spot on when we needed him. We love the home and hope to return in the fall. Thank you again.
San Carlos is considered one of the premier destinations in Sonora and for good reason. This beachside community is only 120 kilometers south of the State capital of Hermosillo and 390 kilometers south of the border with the United States. San Carlos is a mere 15 minute drive to Guaymas, a city noted for its’ shrimp and fishing industry and within a couple of hours you will find yourself in the architecturally and historically rich “pueblo magico” also known as Alamos.
What captures the attention of the first time visitor to San Carlos is the gorgeous scenery. The scenic corridor leads you into the center of our small community and the grand Tetakawi Mountain provides the background. The ocean breezes, blue ocean waters, rugged mountains, desert landscape, and relaxed atmosphere have most visitors returning on an annual basis.
San Carlos offers restaurants so varied and interesting they please even the best traveled. From the traditional Mexican dishes of Carne Asada to goat cheese salad with pear and walnuts, to Sicilian Italian pasta dishes our local restaurateurs will not disappoint.
For golf lovers, an 18 hole Pete Dye designed course is awaiting your arrival as well as the beautiful ocean and mountain views that accompany you on the course. No need to bring your clubs as the clubhouse will provide those for you as well as an enjoyable lunch menu and drinks awaiting you at the 19th hole.
For those that prefer the open seas you will think you have arrived in Heaven…at least a slice of Sonoran Heaven. The San Carlos Marina and Marina Real offer the sort of quality services and amenities that world-class boaters respect. From these marinas you can moor your own boat or charter a captain and boat to take you fishing for Marlin or Sailfish, world-class scuba diving, or general sight seeing and snorkeling. The San Carlos Marina is home to many excellent restaurants, bars, and small boutique shops for gifts and souvenirs.
If more shopping is part of your holiday plans then the downtown center of San Carlos has many stores and galleries to choose from. There is no need to worry about what beachwear to bring because several stores provide these necessities for you. All variety of Mexican crafts and original artworks are available and in a price range to suit everyone’s requirements.
If you prefer hiking, horseback riding , or renting an ATV to tour the desert terrain, San Carlos has you covered. The only thing we are missing is you and the question is…what are you waiting for?
