About Cathy E Geib

My husband and I have been coming to this area and exploring for over 15 years! We fell in love with the serenity, private beaches and wildlife. After looking at homes for at least 10 years, we finally bought our beautiful harbor home. We have never rented but decided to give it a try and open up our home away from home to our guests. We hope that you will love and care for our place as much as we do!

Cathy E Geib purchased this house in 2012

Why Cathy E Geib chose Jose's Hideaway

Being an AF brat, I have lived all over the US, Europe and Asia. My father retired in the panhandle of Florida with the white sand beaches and torquoise waters. We visited with family for more 20 years.! The Upper Captiva kind of beach is non existent in Texas, where we now live. Once I told my Texan husband he had to see Florida beaches, we went back to the Florida panhandle As beautiful as it is, the crowds, traffic, buildings, and condos had taken over!

He saw Captiva on the travel channel so we decided to give it a try and the rest is history! The peacefulness, almost private beaches, wildlife and beauty are all things you don't find other places! It's a very special and unique place!!!

What makes this house unique

BATMAN'S Harbor Hideaway is very, very private and almost hard to find, i.e. like Batman and Robin's secret abode. We loved this home from the beginning because of the beautiful views of Safety Harbor, the screened porches and the private boat dock. The master bedroom seems huge with the screened porch, balcony and views to the channel and harbor. The living and inside dining area is quite large, as well. The house is very equipped with everything you need.

Relax in the hammock out back and enjoy the peaceful sounds of the wildlife and breezes.

Wonderful, Private, and Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time and even saw a couple of Manatees at the dock. We enjoyed taking a tour of the island with the golf cart and had a good day Shelling and enjoyed the kayaks. My daughter and husband enjoyed catching fish from the dock and we even made blackened fish tacos for dinner one night with a few of them. The house was very private which we loved. We felt like we had the island to ourselves.

The owner was wonderful! She was very helpful.

Comfortable, Quiet, and Accommodating ..... say no more.

  • 5 of 5

As a native Floridian living on the Space Coast my family and I enjoy our annual trips to North Captiva, and this one was no exception. We brought our boat as usual and truly enjoyed staying at the BHH. The house was very comfortable and clean, and the dock out back was icing on the cake! Our reservation was a bit bumpy at first (my fault), but with Cathy's assistance and her immediate response to questions and helpful suggestions it was nothing but smooth sailing after that point. When we arrived at the house Jenny met us at the dock right on time. She was extremely friendly and helpful, and during our stay accommodated a couple of request without hesitation. Being very familiar with the island I can say that there were no issues to speak of. We just simply had a comfortable relaxing summertime visit on the island this year.

Till next time ..... thanks again Cathy and tell Jenny we said hi!

Best regards!

Fabulous Spring Break Vacation on North Captiva

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time and can't say enough about how restful this vacation was. The island is quaint and quiet. We had excellent food and wonderful weather! Our stay in Cathy and Tom's beautiful home was wonderful and so private and quiet. We got to kayak a few times and really enjoyed that. Bopping around the island in the golf cart is a lot of fun. Every time we played tennis the courts were always open for us. Love the location of this property, I would definitely return again! Thank you!

Wonderful location on a laid-back island.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time staying here! It is a very low-key, very comfortable beach-style house on North Captiva Island. It worked out really well for us and our 19 and 21-year old kids to join us. The house had all the amenities we could want, a great view, and wonderful screen porches on the main level and off our upper level bedroom. We loved watching the osprey nests! We enjoyed the use of the golf cart and kayaks. We really enjoyed long walks through the nature preserve to the unspoiled and uncrowded beach. It was fun trying the few little restaurants on the island. At first I was nervous about working out all the logistics of getting there and getting food, but it all worked like clockwork: the cab from the airport, picking up our food order from the Publix, and taking the water taxi to the island. Cathy was super nice and easy to work with, and provided all the information we needed. The people who met us once we got there and showed us around were very friendly and helpful as well. This is a great home on a great island if you are looking for a very relaxing getaway, lots of nature, and don't need to go out all the time to be entertained. We all unplugged and relaxed. Oh, and the shelling is great too!

Perfect for the family of five

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay on North Captiva. This property has the privacy we were looking for at a reasonable price. The home is comfortably furnished and has everything you need in the kitchen as well. The dock was a nice surprise as we caught plenty of fish and even saw dolphins and manatees swim by.
