We are a family of 5 with 3 children under 6 years old. During our one week stay I had to call the Sweetgrass office 4 times to address the lack of cleanliness of the rental. This was what we observed upon arrival:
1) Dirty bathroom tub with a used bar of soap left behind
2) dead bugs on the windowsills
3) Furnitures were very old and dusty - the sofa had feathers sticking out constantly and was painful to sit on. There was so much dust on the furniture and underneath sofa, chairs, beds, etc
4) Dirty dishes and silverware put back in the drawers and cabinets.
5) Our kids found prescription medicine underneath the sofa. Thank goodness we caught it in time before my 4 year old decided to eat it as candy. I called to complained and they sent someone to clean and the lady found more drug under the bed.
6) The sink drain was clogged in the master bath
7) The door to the laundry room fell off as I opened it to use.
8) Bed covers were old and not very clean.
9) 3 TVs, but only 1 worked with cable. other 2 useless
10) No shade on the front door for privacy
The positive was at least the office responded quickly to my calls and sent people out. However, they still never cleaned everything I complained about. I finally cleaned the place myself.
We are sorry to hear about the unique challenges that you faced during your stay. The issues have already been addressed. The discovered medication that was left by a previous guest was a first for us and we strive to make it the last. Cleanliness, safety and comfort are our top priorities here at Sweetgrass Properties. Amazing Location within Wild Dunes!
We definitely enjoyed your stay there. This is our 4th trip to Wild Dunes and we always have such a great time. We liked the house - There was plenty of space for our family and we enjoyed the close proximity to the beach (we rented a golf cart). Kitchen was well stocked with plenty of pots and pans, dishware, etc. to cook. It's in a great location on Wild Dunes with close proximity to the beach and the Grand Pavilion.
We did need to call the office once to ask how we acquired the sports card - they were very helpful and answered our question and gave us good directions on how to get it. Also, our dishwasher wasn't working and after we called someone was there within the hour to look at it and fix it! Much appreciated! Will definitely be back.
The Isle of Palms consists of 5 miles of beach and the northern tip ends at Wild Dunes Resort. It is very close to Sullivan's Island, and Mt. Pleasant, and is only 15 miles to downtown Charleston. There are many activities very close to enjoy- sight seeing, restaurants, golf, tennis, water sports, jet skiing, boat rentals, Isle of Palms Marina, and Isle of Palms Recreation Center. The Harris Teeter sits right beside the Isle of Palms Connector for your grocery needs. The Isle of Palms front beach is also a great choice for restaurants and souvenirs.
