Beautiful vacation home!
Roominess was great for our family Christmas gatherings: big table, lots of seating, fantastic views of the beach & ocean. House seemed clean and ready for our visit.
We never found any instructions to operate some features of the house: fireplace, sound system, etc. We got the pilot lit on the gas fireplace after much effort only to never get the logs to ignite. A gas expert in our group stated the gas lines are clogged with rust or debris. We left a message for the local contact but never heard from him.
Outside of house needs some TLC; shingles laying on porches, paint peeling from fascia, pieces of lattice fencing laying around, etc. Trash can in master bedroom had water in it and a stain on the rug in front of door to the porch and the ceiling showed evidence of cracking and a previous leak. Outside furniture had a thin layer of mold on it. Only 1 washcloth per bathroom isn't enough.
All this being said, we had a great time & would stay again.
Great house in a spectacular location - directly on the 18th tee of the Wild Dunes Links course with the ocean immediately beyond. Large house that is very nicely furnished and well equipped. Located in a gated neighborhood that is inside a gate community, so very safe and not much traffic. We were there in the off season, but found there were plenty of activities still available. We spent a fair amount of time in downtown Charleston, which is an easy 30 minutes drive from the house.
Views from the master bedroom are spectacular, even while laying in bed!
My only quibbles - for a rental property of this quality, one would expect to have some type of bath mat in the bathrooms and at least one spare roll of toilet paper...
Great location. Great updated bathrooms.
Overall a very nice home. The positives are location and overall the home is quite nice. The negatives are; least equipped high-end home I have rented. Kitchen had a number of outlets that need to be fixed. No dish soap or not much anything else. No bath soap or shampoo at all. So make sure to bring all you need. Place could be cleaner. Found the carpets to still have Cheerios and toenail clippings. To be fair, they were under the table near the couch. When we pulled back the bedsheets, there were long black hairs on the sheets. The front automatic lock did not work. It would not lock. I called and did get a quick reply, and they seemed to care, but they could not resolve it that first night. They said they could come over the first thing the next day. It was too unnerving to have a home with no front door lock, so I spent two hours eventually figuring out that the battery was dead. So I had to go to store and buy screwdrivers and a battery and take the door handle apart. Not what I wanted to do my first night. Also make sure to bring beach towels as there are none in the home. The back porch had a lot of crappy stuff on it that should not be there. It took away from the ambiance. Finally, and this is not owners fault, but a home two down is being renovated, so don’t plan on any peace and quiet until that’s done. It was like living on a worksite.
It was perfect for our needs
This home fit the 8 of us beautifully. The view and it’s location were perfect. We could have used a dish towel and a few repairs are needed but overall it great.
Thank you for your feedback!
Great location and house.
Fit 6 of us comfortably and would definitely stay again!
We definitely loved this house! It had 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms which was very nice. My inlaws had the 1st floor to avoid too many stairs and my family had plenty of room upstairs. The decor was very nice with tall ceilings and lots of windows... the view of the ocean put everyone in a great mood! We walked easily to the warm ocean to swim. Thank you for sharing this gem!
