About Jim Knock
I am a Prairie boy who decided early to see, do and experience as much as he could during his brief time on the planet. My wife Marian and I have traveled extensively, often by bicycle, over much of the world and do home exchanges whenever we can. We both have postgraduate degrees and are physically active.
Jim Knock purchased this Townhome in 1987
Why Jim Knock chose Fairfield
Victoria was a 'hidden gem' in the 1970s when we moved here and we were fortunate to find this property when home prices were depressed. The house we recently built on the property reflects my interest in design, engineering, innovation, art, architecture and natural beauty.
What makes this Townhome unique
The house is unique. I will be happy to explain why I believe I can say that should you ask. Or you can just enjoy what is arguably one of the finest views in one of the best built homes anywhere on this spectacular planet we live on.

Great place and nice interesting owners
The property was impressive and entirely self contained complete with all amenities. We used it as a base to explore Victoria. Marian and Jim were great to talk to especially about where we can visit and get to act as tourists. Jim was gracious in allowing me to ask about the howto's on the why's on the construction and details of their neat abode. Very accommodating and great couple. It was always interesting to wave to some of the onlookers looking at the building from within the apartment.
In conclusion, we need to spend more time there getting to know Marian and Jim :)
We look forward to the return of the Chow family. We love to see returning guests so we can renew and expand friendships.
Jim & Marian
Great view. Great neighbours.
Jim and Marian's house is so cool. Everyone who walks by stops to look at the unique styling. Our accommodation is tailored to mobility challenged people. Grade level entrance, sliding doors everywhere. Walk-in shower with a bench seat. The bed is a memory foam (likely a Tempur-pedic). Modern appliances and quality table service. Food preparation area is huge. Lots of cooking utensils. We like our morning custom breakfasts and most suppers. The property overlooks the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Lots of activity on and over the water with freighters and Navy vessels plying the waters and seaplanes and helicopter shuttles flying about. On a blustery day a fine mist of sea spray covers the floor to ceiling/wall to wall windows. Across the road is a sea-side walkway. Below that is a shoreline walkway. The house is within walking distance of many shops and points of interest. The beautiful Beacon Hill park has numerous paths meandering through gardens and wildlife abound. I highly recommend this listing. Jim and Marian are excellent hosts and will do what they can to assist you. Would we come back again? In a heartbeat!
It would be impossible for me to improve on your comments, Jerry. You have explained why we live here and why we welcome people like you and your wife into our lives.
Jim and Marian
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property. It was a perfect location on the water and close to all amenities. It was well stocked with everything we needed and very comfortable. It was a good size and we were able to have family come and visit which is impossible in a hotel. Jim and Marian were very friendly and welcoming. We couldn’t have asked for more.
Unique artistic place to stay in Victoria
Great place and location, very unique. Superb view.Jim and Marian were very attentive during our stay; suite was clean and had everything we needed.
Safe/spectacular view/lovely walking paths
It was pretty amazing. It was a 180 degree view of the ocean, great walking trails, and near unique restaurants. The couple who owned it lived attached/behind it and were able to text or provide answers to our questions. They were lovely! I will stay there again next time I visit.
Great place, would definitely go back.
We absolutely loved our stay. The owners were both lovely, and the accommodation was a work of art! You can tell that the owners put so much thought into building this property, and we had so much fun looking at it. The kitchen was full of anything you could possibly need and the location was perfect for us to go for a walk on the beach , or to Cook Street Village for a coffee or a few groceries. Thank you for a great visit!
